Choctaw Police Department

Choctaw Police Department The mission of the Choctaw Police Department is to improve the quality of life for citizens, living, working, or visiting our city.

Professional public service for all. POLICE DEPARTMENT - OUR MISSION:

The mission of the Choctaw Police Department is to improve the quality of life of citizens, living, working, or visiting our city. We believe as Law Enforcement officers, our fundamental duty is to serve mankind: to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidat

ion, and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the Constitutional Rights of all persons to liberty, equality, and justice. We believe that it is our responsibility to protect the constitutional rights of all persons and that we are accountable to the community. We believe that crime is not only a police problem but a social problem impacting all aspects of the community and we are committed to working with the community to address these issues. SETTING AN EXAMPLE:

We will keep our private life unsullied as an example to all; maintain courageous calm in the face of danger, scorn, or ridicule; develop self-restraint; and be constantly mindful of the welfare of others. Honest in thought and deed in both our personal and official life. We will be exemplary in obeying the laws of the land and the regulations of our department. We recognize the badge of our office as a symbol of public faith, and we accept it as a public trust to be held so long as we are true to the ethics of law enforcement. We will constantly strive to achieve these objectives and ideals, dedicating ourselves to our chosen profession: law enforcement. Community Guidelines:

We get it, Choctaw....

The Oklahoma City Thunder just lost to the Spurs. Emotions are high. But please remember: the driver who forgot their turn signal, merged at the last second, or is driving 5 mph under the speed limit is probably not a member of the San Antonio Spurs (or Chet Holmgren tbh).

Road rage doesn't get you to your destination any faster. It only increases the chances of a crash, confrontation, or seeing flashing red and blue lights in your rearview mirror.

If another driver does something that frustrates you:

🏀 Take a deep breath.
🏀 Leave extra space.
🏀 Let them go.
🏀 Resist the urge to "teach them a lesson."

Save the aggression for next season. Keep it out of traffic.

🏀 Make sure you have a ride home tonight, just like the Spurs will after Game 7. Thunder Up! 🏀

Tonight, the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the San Antonio Spurs in a winner-take-all Game 7, and we know fans across Oklahoma will be watching, cheering, and celebrating.

If your game-day plans include alcohol, make a plan before tipoff. Designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, call a friend, or stay where you are. A championship run is exciting, but no celebration is worth risking your life or the lives of others on the roadway.

It has recently come to our attention that there has been an increase in individuals soliciting throughout the City of Choctaw without the required permit. In some cases, these individuals may also behave in a manner that residents find concerning or inappropriate.

If a solicitor comes to your door and is unable to provide a valid permit, behaves in a way that makes you uncomfortable, or if something simply seems suspicious, please contact the Choctaw Police Department at (405) 769-3821. When calling, request that an officer respond to attempt contact with the individual. If possible, please provide a description of the subject and their last known direction of travel.

Solicitors are reminded that operating without a permit is a violation of City Ordinance 26-240, “Soliciting/Peddling Without a Permit,” and may result in a fine of $601.00.

Individuals wishing to solicit within the City of Choctaw may apply for the proper permit and complete the required paperwork at the following link:

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the start of summer. It is a day of reflection for those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

The City of Choctaw Police Department extends our deepest gratitude to the fallen heroes of our Armed Forces and to the families who continue to carry their legacy forward. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication will never be forgotten.

As you spend time with family and friends today, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day.

We remember the fallen. We honor their sacrifice. 🇺🇸

🏆2026 Large Agency Chief of the Year Award 🏆

Please join us in congratulating Kelly Marshall on being named the 2026 Large Agency Chief of the Year by the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police during the annual OACP banquet held on May 21st.

This prestigious award is presented to an Oklahoma Chief Law Enforcement Officer serving a population of over 10,000 who has distinguished themselves through exceptional leadership, professionalism, and service to their community.

Chief Marshall joined the Choctaw Police Department in 2019, but her career in law enforcement spans more than four decades. Through her leadership, professional involvement at both the state and local levels, and unwavering commitment to public service, she has helped guide our agency toward higher standards, stronger policies, and a progressive vision for the future of policing in Choctaw.

OACP Executive Director Steve Whitlock stated, “Chief Marshall has consistently demonstrated integrity, vision, and dedication in serving both her agency and community. She is highly deserving of this honor and we are proud to recognize her achievements.”

Chief Marshall’s commitment to this community extends far beyond the badge. Her passion for helping others has been evident through initiatives that ensure hundreds of children receive Christmas gifts and families are able to share a holiday meal together. She has also been a strong advocate for senior citizens, victims of domestic violence, and programs that provide free cell phones to survivors seeking safety and independence.

In addition to Chief Marshall receiving this incredible honor, the Choctaw Police Department was also formally recognized by the Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police for achieving Accreditation through the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Agency Accreditation Program.

To put this accomplishment into perspective, out of nearly 600 law enforcement agencies across Oklahoma, only 47 have been recognized as a Verified Agency. This recognition represents countless hours of work reviewing and strengthening policies, procedures, training, and day-to-day operations to ensure compliance with state standards and alignment with best practices in modern policing. Achieving accreditation is a significant milestone that reflects this department’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, and providing the highest level of service possible to the citizens of Choctaw.

As officers of the Choctaw Police Department, we are incredibly thankful for Chief Marshall’s leadership, support, and dedication to both this agency and the community we proudly serve every day. Her leadership has helped position this department for continued success, and both of these recognitions are well deserved.

Congratulations to Chief Marshall and every member of the Choctaw Police Department on these outstanding achievements.

It was an honor for our team to take part in such a significant milestone celebrating decades of leadership, service, and dedication to law enforcement across Oklahoma.

Pictured alongside our Honor Guard are OACP President and Chief of Moore Police Department, Todd Gibson, along with OACP Vice President and Chief of Tecumseh Police Department, J.R. Kidney.

We would like to sincerely thank the OACP for the opportunity to be part of this special event and for allowing us the honor of presenting our nation’s colors.

🚨 PURSUIT AND TVI ARREST 🚨

Last week, the Nicoma Park Police Department attempted to stop a yellow 2018 Chevrolet Camaro near the 11400 block of NE 23rd Street east bound for speeding in excess of 100 MPH. The vehicle fled and entered the City of Choctaw, where our swing shift officers quickly initiated a pursuit.

The pursuit lasted approximately one mile along NE 23rd Street before officers conducted a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI), safely bringing it to an end without damage to any Choctaw vehicles or harm to others on the roadway. This quick action significantly reduced the risk to the motoring public posed by a suspect showing clear disregard for the law.

The suspect, identified as Earnado Frederick, exited the vehicle and began walking down 23rd street, refusing commands from officers. He was shortly taken into custody after resisting arrest.

Frederick was charged with Felony Eluding, Resisting an Officer, Possession of Ma*****na, and Reckless Driving. He was transported to the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

Great work by swing shift. Just another reminder that running from Choctaw Police will not end in your favor.

As always, this is an arrest, not a conviction.

This afternoon, surrounded by coworkers, friends, and family, the City of Choctaw Police Department proudly promoted two of our own to the rank of lieutenant. Lieutenant Stephen Freeman and Detective Lieutenant Colten Lobb were officially sworn in and assumed their new roles.

Following a competitive testing process, both were selected not only for their leadership ability, but for their professionalism, work ethic, commitment to this department, and the respect they’ve earned from those they serve alongside.

Chief Marshall, along with the entire department, is extremely proud of these two and looks forward to the leadership and direction they will bring moving forward.

Congratulations, gentlemen! 👏🏼
