Healthy students start with healthy meals! 🍓🌱🥦

During National Fresh Fruit and Vegetables Month, we celebrate the fresh foods that help fuel learning, growth, and success in and out of the classroom.

while school may be out for the summer, hunger never takes a break? More than 3.5 million eligible California children will automatically receive EBT cards to purchase groceries this month, and each eligible child will receive $120. Eligible children who are not automatically enrolled will need to apply through their school to get benefits.

SUN Bucks are back for Summer 2026! ☀️🍎
Starting June 1st, eligible California families can receive $120 per child to help buy groceries while school is out. Many families will be automatically enrolled through programs like CalFresh, CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, or free/reduced-price school meals. If not automatically enrolled, families can apply through their child’s school by August 31, 2026.

Application - The Deadline to Apply for 2026 SUN Bucks is August 31, 2026!
Children ages 0-22 years who attend a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or the School Breakfast Program (SBP) are also eligible for SUN Bucks if they are certified to meet the income eligibility guidelines.
To certify that your child is eligible, you must submit a Universal Benefits Application or School Meal Application to your child's school.
