Our Post opened it doors this weekend and allowed some truly wonderful people to offer FREE haircuts to local students. A plethora of haircuts were provided free of charge. Well done!

Our Quartermaster, Elvis, has a deep history as a first responder!

Meet Elvis, Emergency Planner for Virginia Tech Emergency Management! 🦃

Elvis has been serving the Hokie community since 2016 and joined Virginia Tech Emergency Management in 2019. As our Emergency Planner, he oversees departmental and organizational emergency planning, partnering with campus departments and organizations to help them prepare for a wide range of situations before they happen. He’s also one of four FAA-certified sUAS (drone) pilots within emergency management.

Before coming to Virginia Tech, Elvis retired from both the NYPD and the U.S. Army, bringing more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement, emergency management, leadership, and training. Whether he’s mentoring colleagues, collaborating with campus partners, supporting outreach efforts, or sharing his expertise, Elvis’s dedication and willingness to support others strengthen preparedness across the Hokie community every day.

Preparedness is built through people. We’re excited to continue highlighting the individuals whose work helps strengthen resilience across the Virginia Tech community!

💛 While he prefers to stay behind the scenes, we’d also like to recognize our Assistant Director, Clayton, for the leadership, guidance, and encouragement he provides to our team every day. Emergency management is truly a team effort, and we’re grateful for everyone who helps advance our mission and support the Hokie community.

Pack 145 and Troop 145 are chartered by VFW 5311. Our one and only Scout Yard Sale is Saturday 4/11/26, 7am-11am, at 220 West Main St Christiansburg. 80% of our stuff is priced at 50 cents, and the bargains are outstanding. This is our biggest one yet, by far! Come say hello, support our scouts, and enjoy the beautiful weather!
