Help me congratulate the Virginia National Guard’s newest 11B Infantryman! PVT Nick Lucas is a Senior at Floyd County High School and will be part of our Christiansburg based unit. PVT Lucas is excited to begin his journey. After completing basic and AIT he hopes to combine his National Guard Service with an ROTC adventure at Virginia Tech!

Help me congratulate another . Welcome to the National Guard family PFC Morrow Berberich! PFC Berberich enlisted as a 92G with our Martinsville based unit and received a $20,000 bonus on top of the already substantial educational benefit package! 🤑💸💰

PFC Berberich is excited to embark on her journey and to see how the skills that she’ll learn will help supplement her future degree in Human Nutrition, Food and Exercise.

PFC Lloyd is from Christiansburg, VA and is a student at Radford University where he is double majoring in Finance and Econ! Congratulations to SPC Noah Leary. SPC Leary is the newest 68W Healthcare Specialist with the Lynchburg based HHC 1-116th Infantry. SPC Leary joined the Guard Family after his time in the US Navy. Congratulations to PVT Lucas Shelton of Shawsville, VA. PVT Shelton is a graduate of Eastern Montgomery High School. He enlisted on 22FEB as an 11B Infantryman with the Pulaski based D Co 1-116th. PVT Shelton is excited to go to OSUT and for his $20,000 bonus!

Congratulations to PVT Michael Kennedy, VA’s newest 12B Combat Engineer! PVT Kennedy enlisted 23FEB and is a new ! He is currently studying General Engineering at Virginia Tech. PVT Kennedy is excited to attend OSUT in May and that the VA National Guard will help him save over $28,000 per year at VT through In-State Tuition Rates and State Tuition Assistance!

Soldiers of the Virginia Army National Guard Recruit Sustainment Program learned about the history of the 29th Infantry Division while visiting the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA. As an added privilege, our tour guide (a volunteer) is a currently serving member of the Guard. A current unit member teaching our newest recruits about the history of the Virginia Guard really reminds us that the National Guard remembers its roots and continues to serve the local community.
