Today June 20, 2023
Members of the Coello FD were called mutual aid to the Village of Valier for female 35 weeks pregnant giving birth. Upon arrival members found the mother who had given birth to a baby girl.
Capt./Paramedic Jeremy Parke began assessing and caring for the baby and upon the arrival of AMR continued to stay with the baby and continue care while awaiting Air Evac arrival.
Chief/ First Responder Ron Little and Asst. Chief/ First Responder Ron Davis initiated care to the mother and remained with her while awaiting additional AMR unit.
Both mother and baby were eventually transported to awaiting Air Evac units and flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. This was done out of precaution due to the sudden home birth and for the safety of both mom and baby. Neither mom or baby were in any danger as a result of the birth.
We are pleased to say that Taytum Faye Pitchford was born June 20, 2023 at approx 00:05hrs. Both mom and baby are perfect and doing fine and remain in the hospital with no complications.
Congrats to mom and dad and family, including proud grandpa and Sesser FPD Chief Michael Rasnic on the birth of this beautiful baby girl. We can’t wait to see her again.
This post was made with the consent of the baby’s mother.
