Toro Park Watch

Toro Park Watch Beautiful Toro Park suffers from the misguided idea that public services should pay for themselves. What are the results? What should be done?

If you love Toro Park’s natural beauty and want to preserve it for wildlife and human enjoyment, WE NEED YOU! The County Parks department is in disarray, and as a result, some of Toro Park’s most pristine lands are suffering irreparable damage at the hands of unauthorized trail builders who are determined to convert tranquil hiking trails and wildlife corridors into fast track technical mountain b

iking courses. They’re taking advantage of the Park’s lack of resources and staff and Toro Park’s desperate reliance on “volunteers,” regardless of skill level, appropriate knowledge, or even motivation. The County Supervisors need to understand that Toro Park is a precious public asset, even if it doesn’t have the income-generating potential of Laguna Seca. If you agree, help us educate the community and our elected officials. We all need to be on watch for Toro Park.

This is a post I shared of a rescuer before it was popular to do so. She was ahead of her time. ❤️

I shall
Gather up
All the lost souls
That wander this earth
All the ones that are alone
All the ones that are broken
All the ones that never really fitted in
I shall gather them all up
And together we shall find our home

This picture is of Camberley Kate, who was well known in Camberley as the lady who would wander the streets with her “stray dogs” cart and gather up all the waifs and strays. It is said that during her life she rescued and gave a loving home to over 600 homeless dogs.
Today, I’m honouring this inspirational lady who devoted her life to saving dogs. And what a legacy she did leave behind, and to all the animals, we must be kind.
