🚒 Volunteer Firefighter Safety Equipment Donation 🚒

When we are called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident, our main focus needs to be on the people involved. These traffic speed bumps help tremendously with traffic control, allowing us to create a safer scene for the individuals involved in the accident as well as for our firefighters.

They also help keep traffic moving at a slower, safer speed while we work the scene.

We would like to give a huge THANK YOU to our member, Keith Hillyer, for donating this speed bumps so that we now have a set on every apparatus. Your generosity and commitment to the safety of our members and community are greatly appreciated! 🚒❤️

Our department is looking for Service Members who want to support their local fire department behind the scenes. If you have a specialized skill, hobby, or simply a willingness to help, we need you!

Service Members provide valuable non-operational support, including:

💻 Computer & IT support
📸 Photography
📣 Public relations
🔧 Maintenance
🏫 Community education
📋 Administrative support
🗓️ Planning and preparing monthly meetings
🎪 Assisting with department events
💰 Fundraising to benefit the organization
And so much more!
This is a great opportunity for anyone who doesn’t want to participate directly in emergency responses, cannot meet the physical demands of firefighting, or simply wants to serve their community in a different way.

Service Members do not participate in emergency responses.

Minimum Requirements:
✅ Be at least 18 years old
✅ Pass a background check
✅ Have a valid driver’s license

Your time, skills, and experience can make a difference in your community. There’s plenty to do behind the scenes—and every contribution matters!

NVFD Responds to Propane Leak

Last night, NVFD members responded to a propane leak on Morrison Rd. Our volunteer firefighters quickly secured the area and remained on scene to ensure everyone’s safety while allowing the gas company to access the area and take the necessary steps to address the leak.

Structure/Vehicle Fire Response.

NVFD early morning call for mutual aid with United Volunteer Fire Department Station 14, Fall Branch Volunteer Fire Department, and Mosheim Volunteer Fire.

Firefighters responded to a call involving a structure/vehicle fire. Multiple agencies worked together tirelessly to extinguish the fire, contain the incident, and protect the surrounding area. The strong teamwork, coordination, and dedication of everyone involved played a critical role in bringing the situation under control. Thank you everyone for all the hard work.

🚒 Yesterday, August 9th, was a busy day around NVFD! 🚒

Our crews responded to three calls throughout the day.

🔥 1st Call: We assisted Limestone VFD with a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, we found a gazebo on fire. Thankfully, the fire was contained to the gazebo, and no other structures were damaged.

⚡ 2nd Call: Our second call was for a reported structure fire caused by a lightning strike. The fire was fortunately contained to an electrical outlet, preventing further damage to the home.

We appreciate the assistance and support from all the mutual aid departments who responded with us. We are always stronger when we work together! 🤝🚒

🚗 3rd Call: Our final call of the day was an MVA on Snapps Ferry, which resulted in minor injuries. We wish everyone involved a safe and speedy recovery.

A big thank-you to all of our firefighters, dispatchers, EMS, law enforcement, and mutual aid departments who helped throughout the day. We are proud to serve our community! ❤️
