In 2024, the Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) established the Navy Race Organization (NRO) to create a flagship race that raises the Navy’s national visibility, modeled after the Marine Corps Marathon and Army Ten Miler.

Every branch is in. As of 2027, the Navy Ten-Miler joins the Armed Forces Series Challenge as the sixth and final race, completing the series.

Marine Corps Marathon. Army Ten-Miler. Air Force Marathon. Space Force T-Minus 10-Miler. Coast Guard Marathon. Navy Ten-Miler.

Six races, every branch, one series medal. We are the only West Coast stop, and we run on San Diego Bay on February 28.

Our first Anchored in Freedom 5K and Family Fun Run brought out the best of San Diego, including the ruck crews who carried the weight the whole way and still crossed the line smiling.

They are crossing the line. The Anchored in Freedom 5K and Family Fun Run is in the books at NTC Park Liberty Station, with Fleet Week San Diego.

Congratulations to every runner and walker who came out this morning and started Independence Day weekend with us. Families, first timers, and finishers, you did it. Freedom Parade steps off right after the race at 1pm, so stick around.

Happy Fourth, San Diego.

New for 2027. The Navy Ten-Miler is adding a Competitive Team Division. Build a squad of three to five, race for the best combined time of your top three finishers, lowest total wins.
Represent your command, your run club, or a group of fast friends. One open category, no restrictions, all the bragging rights. This is the race brought to a team level.
Running with a bigger crew instead. Military commands, run clubs, corporate teams, veteran organizations, and school and fitness groups can register together as a Group, with discounts available for groups that reach out.
