Woodland Hills High School

Woodland Hills High School Welcome to the official Woodland Hills High School page! The school district is part of the Allegheny Intermediate Unit.

Bright and talented students are in abundance at Woodland Hills High School and we hope to promote their stories and success using social media and school wide recognition initiatives. We want everyone in the Woodland Hills community to share in the joy and excitement our students provide us every day. The Woodland Hills School District was formed in July, 1981, and is located in the eastern porti

on of Allegheny County, approximately eight miles east of the City of Pittsburgh. The school district covers 13-1/2 square miles and includes the communities of Braddock, Braddock Hills, Chalfant, Churchill, East Pittsburgh, Edgewood, Forest Hills, North Braddock, Rankin, Swissvale, Turtle Creek and Wilkins Township. Geographically, Woodland Hills is bounded by the Monongahela River on the south and the City of Pittsburgh to the west. The Penn-Lincoln Parkway passes through the northern portion of the school district and supplies easy access to downtown Pittsburgh and the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Route 30 is a major east-west traffic artery which passes through the center of the school district. The entire area is served by the Port Authority of Allegheny County, which provides bus transportation to surrounding areas as well as within the school district community. Although composed of 12 municipalities, the school district is a comprehensive community that can provide for a variety of individual needs in housing, employment and social activities. There are over 21,000 residences located within the school district boundaries. The district is primarily a residential community and many residents look to the metropolitan Pittsburgh area for employment, entertainment and social activities. The close proximity of the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University also provide residents with access to numerous educational and cultural activities. The district serves approximately 3,500 students yearly, providing them with a wide array of education and extra-curricular opportunities to develop academically, athletically and socially. Woodland Hills is dedicated to excellence in the classroom, with the primary emphasis placed on quality instruction and student achievement. Additionally, the district is committed to developing community support and citizen involvement within the district.

Before our graduates process across the stage and receive their diplomas, they have several other traditions they participate in throughout the day.

They gather with their classmates for one final chance to mingle and take photos together or with their favorite teachers. They make the final adjustments to the decorations on their caps, which gives them a chance for a lasting message or words of inspiration and motivation. Finally, they make the procession out of the high school, down the access road, and onto the field, where they are met by the cheers of their friends, family members, and the community.

Enjoy a few photos from these moments as we continue to celebrate the Woodland Hills Class of 2026!

As each student speaker rose to address their classmates in the Woodland Hills High School Class of 2026, they noted the characteristics they saw in each of their peers.

They spoke of their strength and resilience. They shared admiration for their willingness to advocate for themselves and stand up for what they believe in. They applauded their compassion, their sense of community, and their willingness to grow.

It has become clear that the Class of 2026 is all of those things, as well as so much more.

They are championship athletes and award-winning performers. They are engineers brimming with creativity and savvy entrepreneurs in the making. They are artists and musicians, teachers and social workers, doctors and scientists. Above all, they are ready to make an impact.
