Alzheimer’s Association volunteer and local resident Deb Grasso is returning with a new program.

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

1. Explain how brain health is important now and across their lifetime
2. Recognize actions that help protect brain health
3. Make a plan to build brain-healthy habits by applying what they have learned.

Tomorrow at 2pm!
Tom Sieling, widely acclaimed singer and guitar, banjo, and drum machine player, will perform a program called “Take a Tromp through the Swamp! Tom has delighted tens of thousands in over thirty years of performing. Every show is a top ten lineup of the most fun, participatory kids’ and camp songs he can dig up and adapt - many are even a bit athletic! He accompanies himself on guitar, banjo, and harmonica, and adds a drum machine to keep things upbeat and easy to move to. The most cool, interesting Northeastern animal, habitat, and dinosaur facts and pictures Tom can find are included, along with lots of encouragement of the kids' lifelong participation in music, reading, outdoor adventures, and library usage. Animals have always been the stars of most of the songs, so given the “Unearth a Story” theme, dinosaurs will be included as much as possible.

Come watch "The Good Dinosaur" (Rated PG) at Newman Riga Library this Thursday, July 23 at 2:00 pm. Popcorn will be offered as a light snack during the movie. No registration required.

Next week at the library, a hot glass dinosaur creation presentation and craft! Magpie Glass will be here to create a dinosaur creature out of glass with audience input about colors, patterns etc. Afterwards there will be a craft for children to complete. The program starts at 2pm on Thursday, July 16. Space is limited so, please register online through the link below or call the library at 293-2009.
