We would like to extend an open invitation to anyone interested in sending William “Billy” Poupore off to the Honor Flight this coming Saturday, September 5th. Billy is the father of Churubusco Volunteer Fire Department Chief, Greg Poupore, and lifelong resident of Churubusco. Billy spent 2 years overseas in Vietnam serving this country in the Army. He will be picked up at his home at 4:50AM. We would love to see other community members send him off to this much deserved honor. People can gather at his home or at the Veteran’s Memorial Park across from the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Churubusco around 4:45am. Bring your American flags and signs Thanking him for his dedication and service in helping to provide Freedom to this great Country.
Please contact me if you are interested in attending and invite others to join who might not see this. Let’s show him how much we appreciate his service!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️🌎🌎
We will be escorting him to the Plattsburgh Oval for the send off Honor Flight Ceremony that starts at 7:00am. All are welcome to follow and attend as it is a beautiful public ceremony and quite a spectacular sight to see.

Please be advised we are currently in a red flag warning. This means dangerous fire conditions are present. Please be aware and take caution. Something as simple as tossing a cigarette butt can make all the difference in a fire.

RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING FOR
GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY FOR MUCH OF THE SAINT LAWRENCE
VALLEY, ADIRONDACKS, AND CHAMPLAIN VALLEY...

The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a Red Flag
Warning for gusty winds and low humidity, which is in effect
until 7 PM EDT this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer
in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...In New York, St. Lawrence, Northern
Adirondacks and Champlain Valley of New York. In Vermont,
Champlain Valley of Vermont.

* TIMING...The lowest humidities and strongest winds will occur
between 11 AM and 7 PM today.

* WINDS...South 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 20 to 25 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Upper 60s to mid 70s.

* Impacts...If any fires were to start the weather and fuel
conditions could cause fires to quickly get out of control and
be difficult to contain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that dangerous fire weather conditions
are expected due to the combination of gusty winds, low relative
humidities, and dry fuels. Any fires that develop may quickly get
out of control and become difficult to contain.
