🚔🔒 Cicero Police Department Reports Successful Memorial Day "Click It or Ticket" Campaign 🔒🚔

The Cicero Police Department is proud to announce the successful completion of its Memorial Day 2026 "Click It or Ticket" enforcement campaign, aimed at increasing seat belt use and promoting roadway safety during one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

Thanks to the dedication of our officers, the campaign resulted in:
✅ 32 seat belt citations issued
✅ 1 fugitive apprehended
✅ 3 suspended/revoked license actions
✅ 2 uninsured motorist citations
✅ 16 reckless driving citations
✅ 1 drug-related action

"Every citation and safety check reinforces the message that seat belts work," said Superintendent Thomas P. Boyle.

Remember: Buckling up is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself and your loved ones on the road.

El Departamento de Policía de Cicero se enorgullece en anunciar la exitosa conclusión de su campaña de cumplimiento de tránsito "Click It or Ticket" durante Memorial Day 2026, enfocada en aumentar el uso del cinturón de seguridad y promover la seguridad vial durante uno de los fines de semana con más tráfico del año.

Gracias al compromiso de nuestros oficiales, la campaña resultó en:
✅ 32 multas por no usar el cinturón de seguridad
✅ 1 fugitivo detenido
✅ 3 acciones por licencias suspendidas o revocadas
✅ 2 multas por conducir sin seguro
✅ 16 multas por conducción imprudente
✅ 1 acción relacionada con dr**as

"Cada multa y revisión de seguridad refuerza el mensaje de que los cinturones de seguridad salvan vidas", expresó el Superintendente Thomas P. Boyle.

Recuerde: Usar el cinturón de seguridad es una de las formas más simples y efectivas de protegerse a usted y a sus seres queridos en la carretera.

Originally from the Philippines, Joy has called Cicero home since 1990 and has spent her life serving others with kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith. At 78 years old, she continues to inspire everyone around her through her positive outlook, dedication to her community, and love for God and family. 🙏❤️

Known affectionately by friends as “Alegria,” Joy believes that faith, gratitude, and helping others are the keys to a happy life. Whether she is attending church, dancing, exercising, or participating in community activities, she brings joy wherever she goes. 🌼💃✨

🧹✨ TEAMWORK IN ACTION! ✨🧹

The Town of Cicero and United Scrap Metal joined forces for their Annual Community Cleaning Day, making a visible difference throughout our neighborhoods! 🌳♻️

United Scrap Metal employees spent the day picking up litter, cleaning public areas, and power washing to help beautify the community. Meanwhile, Town of Cicero employees worked hard cutting grass, repairing and replacing street signs, and completing other maintenance projects to keep our streets and public spaces looking their best. 🚜🛠️🌿

This collaborative effort reflects the pride we all share in our community and our commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors alike.

A sincere thank you to all of the employees and volunteers whose hard work helped make this year's event a success! 💚

El Municipio de Cicero y United Scrap Metal unieron esfuerzos para su Día Anual de Limpieza Comunitaria, logrando una diferencia visible en nuestros vecindarios. 🌳♻️

Los empleados de United Scrap Metal dedicaron el día a recoger basura, limpiar áreas públicas y realizar trabajos de lavado a presión para embellecer la comunidad. Mientras tanto, los empleados del Municipio de Cicero trabajaron arduamente cortando césped, reparando y reemplazando señales de tránsito, y completando otros proyectos de mantenimiento para mantener nuestras calles y espacios públicos en las mejores condiciones. 🚜🛠️🌿

Este esfuerzo conjunto refleja el orgullo que todos compartimos por nuestra comunidad y nuestro compromiso de mantener un entorno limpio, seguro y acogedor para residentes y visitantes.

The Town of Cicero proudly gathered on May 26 for our annual Memorial Day Ceremony, a solemn tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Residents, veterans, military families, first responders, and local officials came together to reflect, remember, and honor the heroes whose courage and dedication secured the freedoms we enjoy today.

Thank you to everyone who joined us as we paid tribute to America's fallen heroes and reaffirmed our commitment to never forget their sacrifice. 🇺🇸⭐

El Municipio de Cicero se reunió con orgullo el pasado 26 de mayo para nuestra ceremonia anual del Día de los Caídos, un solemne homenaje a los valientes hombres y mujeres que hicieron el máximo sacrificio al servicio de nuestra nación.

Residentes, veteranos, familias militares, socorristas y funcionarios locales se reunieron para reflexionar, recordar y honrar a los héroes cuyo valor y dedicación hicieron posible las libertades que disfrutamos hoy.

💙🖤 Honoring Those Who Made the Ultimate Sacrifice 🖤💙

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, past and present members of the Cicero Police Department proudly attended the Illinois Police Memorial Ceremony in Springfield to honor and remember the brave law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty during 2025.

The Illinois Police Memorial serves as a solemn reminder of the courage, dedication, and sacrifice displayed by officers who gave everything in service to their communities. The Cicero Police Department has long maintained a strong presence at this meaningful event, standing alongside fellow law enforcement agencies from across the state to pay tribute to our fallen heroes.

We remain committed to honoring their legacy, supporting their families, and remembering the sacrifices made by our brothers and sisters in blue.

El jueves 7 de mayo de 2026, miembros actuales y retirados del Departamento de Policía de Cicero asistieron con orgullo a la Ceremonia del Memorial de la Policía de Illinois en Springfield para honrar y recordar a los valientes agentes del orden que perdieron la vida en el cumplimiento de su deber durante el año 2025.

El Memorial de la Policía de Illinois sirve como un solemne recordatorio del valor, la dedicación y el sacrificio demostrados por los oficiales que lo dieron todo al servicio de sus comunidades. El Departamento de Policía de Cicero ha mantenido durante muchos años una fuerte presencia en este importante evento, uniéndose a agencias policiales de todo el estado para rendir homenaje a nuestros héroes caídos.

🌿✂️ LAWN CUTTING PROGRAM FOR SENIORS ✂️🌿

Don't forget! Please call the Senior Services office to enroll in the Lawn Cutting Program. 📞 You must call to be added to the maintenance route.

Eligible homeowners can benefit from our 26-week lawn cutting program, which runs from May through October. Under this program, lawns will be mowed once a week. 🌱
