On August 30, 2026 a 56 year old male from Cicero, NY was arrested for Aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree, Fail to surrender suspended license both class (U) Misdemeanors, Unlicensed driver and No seat belt both Traffic infractions. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in The Town of Cicero Justice Court.

On August 30, 2026 a 57 year old male from Syracuse, NY was arrested on a Bench Warrant for Petit Larceny a class (A) Misdemeanor. He was arraigned and released to re-appear in The Town of Cicero Justice Court.

On September 2, 2026 a 22 year old male from Syracuse, NY was arrested for Criminal Contempt 1st degree a class (E) Felony and Harassment 2nd a Violation. He is being held at The Justice Center to await arraignment.

Today, Chief Steve Rotunno had the honor of serving as Master of Ceremonies for the 2026 New York State Fair Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony.

The ceremony paid tribute to the 17 law enforcement officers who passed away over the past year, honoring their service, dedication, courage, and ultimate sacrifice. We also recognize the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory and legacy forward.

This year’s ceremony held special significance as we approach the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. A special Honor Guard from the New York City Police Department traveled to Syracuse to stand alongside Honor Guards from the New York State Police, Syracuse Police Department, Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, and the Central New York Association of Chiefs of Police.

Their presence served as a powerful reminder of the courage, unity, and sacrifice demonstrated by law enforcement officers on that tragic day and throughout the years since.

Today, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. We honor their lives, their families, and their lasting legacy.

On August 18, 2026 a 56 year old male from Cicero, NY was arrested for Issuing a bad check a class (B) Misdemeanor and Petit Larceny a class (A) Misdemeanor. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in The Town of Cicero Justice Court.

On August 23, 2026 a 53 year old male from North Syracuse, NY was arrested for Driving while intoxicated x2 class (E) Felony, Driving while intoxicated class (D) Felony and Failed to use designated lane a Traffic infraction. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in The Town of Cicero Justice Court.

On August 23, 2026 a 47 year old female from Cicero, NY was arrested for Criminal contempt 1st degree a class (E) Felony and Resisting arrest a class (A) Misdemeanor. She is being held at the Justice Center to await arraignment.

On August 26, 2026 a 68 year old female from Central Square, NY was arrested for Making threat of mass harm a class (B) Misdemeanor. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in The Town of Cicero Justice Court.

On August 26, 2026 a 60 year old male from North Syracuse, NY was arrested on a Warrant for Petit Larceny a class (A) Misdemeanor. He was arraigned and released to re-appear in The Town of Cicero Justice Court.

On August 27, 2026 a 62 year old male from Cicero, NY was arrested for Aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd degree a class (U) Misdemeanor, Unlicensed operator and Operating without insurance both Traffic infractions. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in The Town of Cicero Justice Court.

As another school year approaches, the Cicero Police Department would like to thank the ,parks@recreation for stepping up and clearing the overgrown brush along Route 31 near the high school this afternoon.

Keeping this area clear improves visibility and helps enhance safety for our students, staff, parents, and motorists as we head into a new school year.

We appreciate the Parks Department for their hard work and continued partnership in keeping our community safe and looking its best!

Sgt Smith alongside Cicero Elementary Principal Melissa O’Donnell & staff, had a great time helping local kids get ready for the new school year! The Back-To-School Shopping Event Target was filled with smiles, excitement, and making sure students had what they needed to start the year off right!!

Chief Rotunno and Sgt Smith had a wonderful time visiting the kids & staff at Tic Tac Toe & Tic Tac Tiny Toe Day Care Centers! We enjoyed reading together, talking about safety, and of course handing out some goodies 🩵💜 Thanks for having us - we had a great time!
