WOW! $18,000 & countingπŸ‘

That's what our Saint Joe's community has raised so far for the "Back to School & Back on the Road" appeal β€” and it means our fleet of 23 vehicles can keep making nearly 9,000 trips a year possible for our residents and participants.

Mission Monday πŸ™Œ

Today we're celebrating Labor Day by saying thank you to every single member of our Saint Joe's team! πŸ’™

From our DSP's, Therapists, and Nurses, to our HR, Maintenance, and Admin teams β€” many of you are showing up today, on a holiday, because our residents and participants count on you every day of the year. That kind of dedication doesn't take a day off, and we see it.

To everyone who makes Saint Joe's what it is β€” whether you're on shift today or enjoying a well-deserved day off β€” thank you for the heart, hustle, and compassion you bring to the team. We couldn't do this without you!

Happy Labor Day.πŸŽ‰

Wisdom Wednesday πŸ’‘

Join us in celebrating Maria Robbins, our Director of Quality & Compliance, on earning her Master's of Health Informatics from the University of Cincinnati! πŸŽ“

Here's what Maria shared about her journey:

"I wanted to further my education to enhance my skills, which ultimately will continue to support the work at Saint Joe's. Health informatics, as opposed to a traditional health administration path, allowed me to blend my interests in technology with professional development."

Her expanded knowledge in health information systems, health data analytics, and data science will help Saint Joe's continue to positively influence client outcomes, health, and safety.

Congratulations, Maria β€” we're so proud of you! πŸ’™

Mission Monday πŸ™Œ There is no shortage of fun at our Adult Day program!

Last Friday, we kicked things up a notch with a "Boot Scootin' Boogie" line dancing party β€” and it did not disappoint! 🀠🎢 The joy on our participants' faces said it all, and some of our admin staff even joined in on the fun.

Moments like these are what Saint Joe's is all about β€” connection, joy, and a whole lot of good energy. πŸ’™

Thank you to our Day Program team for always finding new ways to bring smiles to our participants' faces!

Feature Friday πŸŽ‰

This summer, our Day Program got a beautification boost β€” thanks to an Eagle Scout project led by Charlie, a student at St. Xavier High School!

Charlie first found his way to Saint Joe's through St. X's service program, where students spend part of their school day serving in the community. It was that experience β€” and St. X's deep commitment to service and to those less fortunate β€” that inspired him to ask John Van Gilse for permission to take on an Eagle Scout project of his own.

Along with fellow scouts, Charlie cleared limbs and trees to open up more parking space for our Day Program families, then trimmed back brush and evened out the tree line around the building β€” a beautification effort that's made a real difference!

He didn't stop there. He also hand-built two owl houses and a bat house, all from cedar wood β€” each one custom designed and dimensioned for the local wildlife around our campus.πŸ¦‰πŸ¦‡

Thank you, Charlie, for your hard work, heart, and dedication to our Saint Joe's community β€” congratulations on your Eagle Scout project!

Today we're celebrating a huge milestone β€” our CEO, Dan Connors, is marking 14 years with Saint Joe's! πŸŽ‰

For over a decade, Dan has led with humility, heart, and an unwavering commitment to our mission β€” championing individuals with developmental disabilities and inspiring everyone around him to do the same.

Two of our board members shared what makes Dan such a remarkable leader:

Mike Kennedy: "Dan embodies the true meaning of a servant leader. His reputation for championing individuals with developmental disabilities is unmatched, yet he remains one of the most humble leaders I've ever worked alongside. He leads with intentionβ€”supporting his teams, elevating their work, and consistently sharing or giving credit where it's due."

Melissa Park: "Dan is one of the most selfless and generous servant leaders I've ever had the pleasure to work with. He is the embodiment of our Saint Joe's values and beliefs. And he's just a heck of a nice guy! Congratulations on 14 years... and cheers to many more!"

Congratulations, Dan, and thank you for 14 years of servant leadership! πŸ’™

Mission Monday πŸ™Œ

Last week, we welcomed a group of Sisters from Mother Margaret Hall for a very special visit β€” a lunch and tour led by our services directors and teams. πŸ’™

Saint Joe's was founded by the Sisters of Charity back in 1873, so having them back on campus feels like coming full circle. The visit gave everyone a chance to talk about our mission: providing compassionate care and programming for people with developmental disabilities, and support for their families.

Among the group was S. Marianne Van Vurst, who served as administrator of Saint Joe's from 1986 until 2011 β€” getting to reconnect with her was a highlight for our whole team.

Thank you to the Sisters of Charity for the legacy you built here, and for continuing to be part of our story! πŸ™

Feature Friday πŸŽ‰

Our β€œBack to School & Back on the Road” appeal is hitting mailboxes now β€” and this year, it’s not about just one van or bus. It’s about keeping our entire fleet safe, reliable, and ready to roll all year long. 🚌

Saint Joe’s fleet of 23 vehicles logs nearly 9,000 trips each year, connecting more than 100 residents and participants to school, therapies, medical appointments, day programs, and meaningful experiences throughout our community.

These smiling faces are three of our residents heading back to school this week β€” a perfect reminder that every mile matters. πŸ’™

If you'd like to help keep our vehicles rolling, look for our appeal letter in your mailbox or give anytime at stjoescincy.org/donate.
