June is Gun Violence and Safety Month. In 2025 alone, at least 40,000 Americans were victims of gun violence. Access to a firearm in a domestic violence situation increases the risk of homicide by 500%.

is a non-profit organization dedicated to substance abuse prevention and behavioral health education across Butler County and greater Southwest Ohio. One of their initiatives is to provide free gun locks to the community in the effort of reducing gun violence.

Each year, for 34 years, awards are presented to professionals who work in advocacy and support to recognize the work they do to aid and empower crime victims and survivors in Ohio. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost gave a keynote presentation on empowerment and violence prevention among advocacy professionals.
