September is Recovery Month—a national observance dedicated to promoting evidence-based treatment, supporting the recovery community, reducing stigma, and honoring the dedication of service providers.

To help raise awareness, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has released its 2026 Recovery Month Toolkit. It includes key messages and weekly themes, social media shareables, digital stickers, email signatures, virtual backgrounds, and hashtags to increase visibility and engagement on social media.
