Help us welcome some new faces to the Pack! 👋

We're excited to introduce several staff members joining West Clermont for the 2026-2027 school year. Each is filling an existing position previously held by another staff member, bringing new experiences, talents, and perspectives to roles that continue to serve and support our students and schools.

Please join us in giving them a warm welcome as they begin their first year with us! 🙌

📅 Attendance matters. And this year, Ohio’s attendance laws include some important updates for families.

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, there is a greater emphasis on regular attendance and earlier communication between schools and families when concerns arise.

What should West Clermont families know? Changes include:

🔔 Earlier family notification: Families will be notified when a student has missed 5% of the school year for any reason, including excused, medically excused, and unexcused absences.

📚 Chronic absenteeism: A student is considered chronically absent after missing more than 10% of the school year (approximately 90–100 hours) for any reason.

🤝 Attendance Intervention Plans: When concerns arise, schools may work alongside families to identify barriers and connect students with appropriate support.

📋 Required follow-up: If attendance does not improve, additional steps may be required under state law, including possible referrals to outside agencies.

🚗 Driver’s education: High school students must meet state attendance requirements before participating in the in-car portion of driver’s education.

We know there are many reasons a student may need to miss school. If your family is experiencing challenges that make regular attendance difficult, please reach out to your child’s school. We’re here to work with you and help your student stay connected, supported, and learning.

🎨 🏠 One house, plenty of ideas and a whole lot of teamwork!

Students in Mrs. Stahley’s Art Foundations I class at WCHS kicked things off with a team-building activity that required them to work together to create one drawing of a house.

It may sound simple, but when everyone has a hand in the final masterpiece, communication, cooperation, and a little creative problem-solving are key! It was a fun way for students to connect while practicing skills they’ll use in the art room all year long.

And judging by the results, they make a pretty great creative team! 🖌️

A new chapter in more than 60 years of serving Southwest Ohio!

West Clermont staff members Eric Dool, Angela Basler, and Hope Gill were proud to join IPM Food Pantry in celebrating the opening of its new Clermont County facility. The new space will help IPM continue providing essential food and personal care items to local families when they need a helping hand. 🫶

Partnerships like this make our entire community stronger. West Clermont Schools is grateful for IPM’s longstanding commitment to our neighbors and for the opportunity to work together in support of local families.

Congratulations to everyone at IPM Food Pantry on this exciting milestone. We look forward to many more years of partnership and service to our community! 🎉

📖 Some books stay with you long after you turn the last page. And at Holly Hill, "Shiloh" is one of them.

Each year, fifth-grade teacher Katie Meiners begins by reading "Shiloh" with her students. The story opens the door to conversations about conflict, choices, and what it means to do the right thing, even when no one is watching.

But the lessons don’t end when the book does. Throughout the year, Ms. Meiners continues to bring students back to those conversations, giving her class a shared story and shared values to lean on as they learn and grow together.

We love seeing Ms. Meiners and Mrs. Nigh intentionally build that sense of community from the very beginning. It’s a great reminder that some of the most important lessons taught in a classroom go far beyond the pages of a book. 🙌

🎢 📐 Sixth graders are learning that before you can enjoy the ride, you have to engineer it!

In Gifted Workshop, students are taking on the challenge of building roller coasters using just paper and tape. But there’s a lot more behind those twists, turns, and drops than meets the eye!

Students are putting the laws of physics to work while also learning an important part of the design process: plan first, build second. They’re thinking through their ideas, testing what works, making adjustments, and discovering how a little planning can make a BIG difference.

Physics + creativity + problem-solving = one pretty awesome ride! 💨

Being little and trying something new can feel pretty big!

Ms. Melissa’s Wolf Pups at Summerside Preschool spent their first day learning an important lesson: “I’m OK, and I can do this!” ✨

We’re so proud of our Wolf Pups, and we can’t wait to watch their confidence grow all year long!
