What a great night we had with Backbeat Cincinnati performing at our library! It’s another example of how libraries aren’t always the stereotypical “quiet place” – we have a wide variety of things going on! Backbeat was simply amazing, performing for two hours with heavy applause at the end of every song. Our branch was filled with people singing and dancing along. Yes, they were literally dancing in the stacks! It was a great thing to see. Thanks again, Backbeat! 😊

Would you be interested in joining a book to film adaptation club? The idea is we'd have a book to read (probably on a monthly basis) that has been adapted for the screen (i.e. Sense and Sensibility, Little Women, Dune, etc.) and then come together to discuss the book and watch the movie. 👀📽️

We just wanted to update everyone on how our library’s four public fantasy football leagues are going. We are proud to be the only library currently offering this program that allows the public to learn about and join fantasy football leagues free of charge! We offer support to all players before and during the draft, as well as throughout the season.

Below are the teams that are currently “in the playoff hunt” in each league. The quest to destroy Manager Paul (a.k.a. Minnesota BurchSlap) in fantasy football is ongoing. As you can see below, he is “in the hunt” in three of the four leagues. You won’t see him listed in the list of league #3, however, because he is dead last with an 0-6 record! Much to the Mt Washington library staff’s delight! 😊 Paul was allegedly seen weeping silently in a corner somewhere.

Come join us next Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. for Backbeat! We are expecting a large crowd for this concert, so our parking lot will probably be full. There are additional spaces next door in the Health Source parking lot (after 5 p.m.), and there are also extra spots across the street at the Dollar Tree parking lot. It’s going to be a fun, dynamic experience! Make sure to be a part of it!

We had a great time hosting the Culturalcentreofindia for the ‘Chill with Chai’ program a couple of weeks ago in our new meeting room! Everyone had a great time and also enjoyed some tasty treats!
