Our summer celebration of student achievements continues!

We're looking back at a powerful project from this past year, where Sycamore High School freshmen spent the third quarter researching teen-related issues and creating impactful Public Service Announcements. 🎙️💡

They partnered with Magnified Giving, an organization that helps students learn about nonprofits and sponsors local philanthropic efforts. 🤝 Following a competition judged by students and staff, winners were selected, and Magnified Giving provided an incredible $4,000 for our students to donate directly to local charities! 🌍❤️

Great job to these freshmen for using their voices, and their hard work, to give back to our community! 🙌

Last night, our Aves Culture & Climate Team (ACCT) - which is made up of administrators (including our Superintendent Chad Lewis), staff, and parents - hosted an incredible community gathering! 🥰

It was a beautiful evening filled with deep connection, meaningful dialogue, and collaborative co-creation. Under the guidance of Assistant Superintendent Meghan Lawson, the team welcomed a brand-new group of parents, staff, high school students, and community members to learn how ACCT is actively nurturing an inclusive and welcoming school environment. 💚💛

Guests were introduced to ACCT's four essential pillars:
✨ Be Present
✨ Participate in Conversation
✨ Host Others
✨ Co-Create

Together, the group engaged in honest, open dialogue about their fears, interests, responsibilities, and lived experiences - sharing insightful thoughts on how Sycamore can continue to build a stronger community by creating safe spaces for everyone.

Thank you to our ACCT members and all our guest attendees who showed up and contributed to this vital work! 🤝🌟

Who says the celebration stops in May? The school year may be over, but our social media feeds are staying locked and loaded with all the incredible things our students accomplished before the final bell! 🌟

Thanks to a generous grant from the Ohio STEM Learning Network, some of our Blue Ash Elementary students used micro:bits and compatible controllers to design and code their very own interactive video games using MakeCode Arcade! 💻

The best part was seeing our older students step up as mentors and share their finished games with younger learners... and even special guests like Director of Operations, Mark Zimmerly, who was spotted checking out the action!

A huge thank you to STEAM Specialist Ms. Timmerman for sharing these great photos! 📸

Next stop: Sycamore High School! 🏛️✨

Before heading off to summer break, our Sycamore Junior High 8th graders spent an incredible day celebrating all of their achievements and getting hyped for the big move to the high school next year!

A little rain couldn't dampen their spirits! They splashed around and enjoyed games all day long despite the soggy weather! 🌧️☔

Get ready, SHS... the Class of 2030 is officially on the way! 🎉

Big things are ahead for Kalalah Reese-Mensah from the Class of 2026! We're proud to share that Kalalah has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from The Sankofa Foundation for her humanitarian work in Ghana, West Africa. 👏

Kalalah will be putting this scholarship toward her 2027-28 college education, but first, she is embarking on a powerful gap year of service in Ghana. Her time will be split between two incredible initiatives:

✈ Volunteering at the Hopesetters Autism Center to assist children on the autism spectrum during overnight respite care.
✈ Diving into humanities and disease prevention training at Methodist University College in Tema.

Kalalah, your deep passion for serving others is truly inspiring. We can't wait to see the impact you make! 💚✈️⭐

And now... it's time to highlight our Maple Dale Elementary Senior Walk! 🎓🥳

Our amazing (and now officially graduated!) seniors went back to where it all started during the last week of school. They spent the day touring their old halls, catching up with former teachers, and hanging out with our enthusiastic K-4 students.

There were definitely some happy tears and a whole lot of nostalgia, but most of all, so much pride. Congratulations, seniors! No matter how far you go, you’ll always have a home at Maple Dale. 💚💛
