ONE WEEK until you can step into "The Scandinavian Home!" 🏠🚶♀️
Step into the storied lands of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden in the Taft's summer exhibition, opening June 13. This is the first exhibition to examine the entangled notions of home and homeland that were central to the art of each nation in the second half of the 19th century. The arts played a crucial role in reinforcing a shared sense of belonging as Nordic countries strove to identify and celebrate authentic local and national identities. Organized by The Frick Pittsburgh Museums and Gardens, this exhibition unites works of art from prominent public institutions and private collectors, and it offers a singular opportunity for a comprehensive and multimedia exploration of this seminal period in Scandinavian culture.
