As of May 13, all Ohio SNAP recipients must unlock their EBT card before making online or out-of-state purchases. Since most skimming - organized theft of SNAP directly from EBT cards - occurs from out of state, this change should vastly reduce skimming.

Legal Aid Attorney Regina Campbell added "this interim move by ODJFS will greatly help protect Ohioans who receive SNAP, but we still recommend that everyone keep their SNAP card locked until they need to use it." Need help locking your card? Watch the-how to video below, produced by ODJFS. You can also lock your card on the Connect EBT website listed below or by calling Conduent at 1-866-386-3071.

We're celebrating our anniversary!

44 years ago today, the Volunteer Lawyers for the Poor Foundation (VLPF) was co-founded by the Legal Aid Society and the Cincinnati Bar Association to meet legal needs of low-income individuals who otherwise could not afford a lawyer.

The Volunteer Lawyers Project, established by the VLPF, connects private attorneys with opportunities to take pro bono cases and volunteer at legal clinics.

Interested in volunteering to help families in our community stay safe, housed, and stable? Click the link below to sign up, or email VLP Managing Attorney Molly Russell at [email protected].
