A big "THANK YOU" to Jessica and Evan from Brazos Bend State Park for a great program on Adaptations of the American Alligator. The highlights of the program were the skull of an adult alligator and the live baby alligator that anyone could pet (on the tail , of course!).

Here is a list of the next couple of programs coming to Willow Fork Park. Put theses dates on your calendar.

We had a fun Family Nature Scavenger hunt last week. One of the hi-lights of the program was when a young girl released 5 butterflies from her home butterfly cage. Her excitement was priceless!

In case you did not make the program, please feel free to print out the Scavenger List and bring it to the park and see how many of the items you can find.

Hello Friends of Willow Fork Park,

Our next program at Willow Fork Park is this Saturday April 19, from 9 am to 10 am. The topic is “Water Conservation”.

To support Earth Day, we are hosting at Willow Fork Park several organizations involved with Water Conservation. We will host 3 organizations that will have booths available for you to learn about their organization and to learn how to better conserve our precious water resource. Plan to visit all the booths and chat with experts on water conservation.

1. Coastal Prairie Chapter - TX Master Naturalists - Master Naturalists will show kids of all ages what happens to water during a storm as it runs off of our lawns, farms and businesses into our waterways. They will have a fun enviroscape model where the kids produce the rainstorms themselves after "polluting" the land with pesticides, herbicides, and other chemicals.

2. Willow Fork Drainage District – Learn about learn about rainwater drainage management, park management and hike/bike trails management and plans for future trails from a Board member of Willow Fork Drainage District

3. Noth Fort Bend Water Authority – Learn about the project to bring water to the greater Katy community for use where you live.

Willow Fork Park was developed by Willow Fork Drainage District in collaboration with Katy ISD and is located at the northwest corner 99/Grand Parkway and Cinco Ranch Blvd., north of Cinco Ranch High School.

This is a free family–friendly activity for all ages.
