I have decided to run for re-election for MAYOR of Cisco....
7 years ago, this wonderful city put their trust in me for City Council and then 2 years ago, that trust was extended again to be your Mayor. I was so grateful for that confidence...and now I ask for your support again!!
My wife, Jennifer, and I have been married for 30 years and we have 3 wonderful children. Jennifer has worked at the Cisco Elementary Head Start for the past 9 years (family social worker) and at the RCLC for 2 years before that.
All 3 of our children will forever be Cisco Loboes. Savannah Marie graduated in 2017 and is now doing a great job as a single mom to our first grand-son, Chance. Douglas Jr. is a 2019 graduate of Cisco HS, a 2024 graduate of Texas Tech and married to Hannah Zamira. He is diligently seeking his Masters at Tarleton St. Our youngest, Rebekah Lynn, is a 2024 graduate of Cisco and is working towards a cosmetology certificate at Cisco College.
The Lord called my family to Cisco 20 years ago to pastor the Bible Baptist Church, a wonderful group of believers who desire to make a Godly impact on our community as well as around the world. I also have worked at the Cisco Elementary School (17 years) as bus driver and paraprofessional.
If re-elected, I look forward to continue working with the Council and newly hired City Manager Sarah Adams as we move forward and keep Cisco strong and a great place to work and live.
My heart is about serving the community. Our greatest example for this is the Lord Jesus Christ. It didn’t matter to him who the person was, their social status, or their background…His love for them was His fuel for service. My desire is to serve the people of Cisco and to be another Christian voice for our community. I will also do my best to be seen in the community and listen to the opinions of our citizens.
As council member, I had the privilege of working under the leadership of Tammy Loran. We opened the new Water Treatment Plant, began to work a 10-year plan to improve our roads, and maintained a city tax without increase. As Mayor, the city has worked closely with the Cisco Development Corporation (Justin Jaworski, Director) and a private entity, Cisco S.A.F.E. for the construction of a NEW City Park next to the fire station. Working with Council, we have also kept taxes consistent, with no serious increases. Through a series of unfortunate events, we have had to hire a new city manager. I look forward to working with her and the council to continue forward progress for our wonderful city. Our goals for Cisco include: fiscal responsibility, continued improvements with infrastructure, maintain consistent tax levels, keep this marvelous city of ours the place to be!!!
