*Mayer of Putnam, Tx for 10 year
*Justice of Peace for 8 years
*President of Texas State Ginners Association (cotton)

Daughter Mary was a Teacher & Smith County school supervisor

Daughter Ruth was a survivor of Polio
and was incapacitated her entire life.

Daughter Mildred
*Started a news paper, The Putnam News, that would later become The Cisco Daily News in 1950
*A Congressional Secretary in Washington D. C.
*Worked for the United States Department of Agriculture in the Office of the Director in Dallas Texas.

The Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco, TX is having their semi-annual clean up days the 1st weekend of October.

We will be throwing out all grave decorations that are plastic or broken, and asking anyone putting out new decorations to wait until after October 9th to put them out.

Volunteer Opportunity

Do you have a dump trailer/truck?
We are looking for someone to haul a load or two of mulch out to the cemetery.
Page Outdoors has provided the mulch we just need it hauled.

Oakwood is getting a new sign/message center.
Thanks to a generous donation.
We put in the sign this week and will be getting the lettering done soon, as well as getting a map of the cemetery grounds to put in the message center side.
