🐾⭐ CONGRATULATIONS, K–2 WILDCAT LEADERS! ⭐🐾
September Leadership Roles

We are so excited to congratulate our K–2 students who have been selected for September Leadership Roles at MJE! ❤️💙

Throughout the month of September, these students will have the opportunity to lead, serve, help others, and make a positive difference at our school.

Our September leaders will learn how to perform their leadership jobs responsibly and proudly. At the end of the month, they will have one very important final responsibility:

⭐ Leaders Train Leaders! ⭐

Our September leaders will help train the students selected for October, showing them how to successfully carry out their new leadership roles. This allows our students to practice leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and helping others succeed.

We are so excited to continue growing our Leader in Me culture at McDavid-Jones Elementary and to give our youngest Wildcats meaningful opportunities to discover the leader within themselves.

❤️💙 We are proud of you, Wildcat Leaders! 💙❤️

🐾 Lead by Example.
🐾 Serve with Kindness.
🐾 Help Others Succeed.
🐾 Let Your Leadership SHINE!

⭐ Every Student. Every Day. Raising the Bar. ⭐

3-5 Leadership Announcement will be coming soon.

🍦🔬 Science has never tasted so sweet! 🔬🍦

Mrs. Fortner’s second graders teamed up with Mrs. Danzey’s first graders for a fun, hands-on science experiment — making ice cream in a bag! 🧊🥛🍨

Our second graders loved getting to help the first graders while everyone learned more about solids and liquids and watched science happen right before their eyes!

And let’s just say… those bags got SHAKEN! 😂 They shook and shook until they just about couldn’t shake anymore, but the smiles, laughs, teamwork, and excitement made every second worth it!

There’s nothing better than seeing our students learn together, help one another, and have SO much fun while doing it. ❤️

Hands-on learning + teamwork + ICE CREAM = the sweetest science lesson ever! 🍦✨

🍦🧪 Sweet Science in Action! 🧪🍦

Ms. Owens’ 2nd grade class and Ms. Bullard’s 1st grade class teamed up for a fun, hands-on collaborative learning experience—Ice Cream in a Bag! 🍦❄️

Students explored how liquids can freeze and melt while turning science into a tasty treat! Ms. Owens’ 2nd graders did an AMAZING job stepping up as leaders and helping their 1st grade friends successfully complete the experiment. 💕👏

We loved watching our students learn, lead, collaborate, and have FUN with science! 🔬✨ And, of course, getting to eat the results made the experiment even sweeter! 😋🍦

💦 Scientists at Work in Mrs. Boltz’s Class! 🔬

Today Mrs. Boltz's class experimented to see which materials absorb water the fastest! Students made predictions, tested different materials, and were so excited to see which predictions were right! They loved being scientists and learning through hands-on fun! 🧪💙

Our second graders in Mrs. Fortner’s class had a BLAST racing to the finish line with our Mini UNO Card Race! 🏁❤️💙

Students practiced counting and recognizing numbers while having so much fun cheering on their classmates along the way! I love when learning turns into laughter, excitement, and a little friendly competition! 🥰

UNO Math Race for the WIN! 🏆🎉 Learning is always more fun when we do it together!

These mathematicians in Mrs. Qualls class have been busy with math centers. They are using manipulatives to build, extend, and explore patterns! They were thinking, creating, and explaining what comes next—all while turning math into something they could see and touch.

Regular attendance is essential to your child’s success! To help us meet our attendance goal this school year, we are asking each of YOU to make a commitment to ensure your student misses fewer than 17 days of school—whether excused or unexcused.
Every day matters, and every day counts!
The graphic below highlights McDavid-Jones Elementary School’s attendance goal: fewer than 17 days missed during the school year.
