What a night! 🌙🎶 Thank you to everyone who joined us for Citrus Nights at Van Maren Park on Friday! From live music by local R&B band Mercy Me to great food, the Beer & Wine Garden brought by Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce and plenty of memories, it was a night to remember.

A special thank you to our event sponsors for helping make the evening possible and bringing this celebration to life. We appreciate your support of our community!

🚧 Road Closure Notice: Mariposa Avenue 🚧
Mariposa Avenue, between Cook Ave and Old Auburn Rd, will be closed to traffic from August 24–28, 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., due to construction related to a nearby project and scheduled SMUD tree trimming. 🌳

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time and follow posted detour signs when traveling in the area.

New data from Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District shows meaningful decreases in several calls for service in Citrus Heights from 2024 to 2025:
🚒 43% decrease in calls for service related to homeless fires
🧑‍🚒 40% decrease in grass and vegetation fire calls
🧯 36% decrease in medical calls related to homelessness

These results reflect the work happening across our community, including local policies and programs designed to help keep Citrus Heights safe. The City’s Beautification Crew, Chronic Nuisance Offender Program, illegal dumping enforcement and many other efforts all play a role in addressing community concerns and improving quality of life.✨

We’re proud of this progress and grateful to our first responders, City staff, community partners and residents who continue working together to make a difference in Citrus Heights!
