The following is tough to read but it gives insight on how offenders can control children that they prey upon. The purpose of this is to present how different offenders use different means to gain trust and manipulate children.

The following is from Eric Hickey's book Serial Murders and Their Victims.

Wooden (1984) outlines a variety of child lures used by offenders, including the appeal to a child's ego by telling him or her that he or she is to be in a beauty contest or a television commercial. Some offenders tell the child an emergency has occurred and they have come to es**rt the child home immediately. Wayne Williams (involved in the Atlanta child murders) was known to have posted employment advertisements for you men throughout the area in which he resided. In the case of Ted Bundy and others like him similar themes are used but in a more sophisticated manner. Wearing a cast to evoke sympathy or displaying fictitious business cards initially alleviates fears of dealing with a stranger. Offenders who have become adept at manipulating can exert complete control over others, especially children. The following tragic story illustrate how devastating the control that some offenders have over their victims can be.

A Child Killer's Story*
I remember it was late fall and I was living in T_____, Arizona, on the run from the law in Montana. At 26 I had already committed several violent crimes and was basically out of control. Deep into depression and frustrated I found my self walking across a field about 4:00 p.m. On cold, dreary day. I thought I was alone when I noticed two girls also walking across the field. Immediately I knew I was going to kill them. Moving in their direction I began to speak to them in a friendly voice. They said they were on their way to play badminton. Both were 11 years of age but one looked physically more mature than the other. It was really very easy, and I was so persuasive, the girls did not even hesitate when I suggested we go to a secluded area. They were such trusting children.

NOISE

In today's world we are surrounded by noise, TV, radio, cell phones, and everything that comes with it. Hundreds of channels of both TV and radio all screaming at you 24/7.
Phones that follow you around all day and night long and are hard to put down.
Walk in to almost any place to eat and all you see are people at the same table staring blankly at a small cell phone screen or at one of many TV screens surrounding the dining area.
In many cars people have a screen in front of them, directions, sensors lists of radio channels. And now car companies want larger screens and some all across the dashboard.
All this noise causes us to lose focus and become fatigued. I know that in my case I see hundreds of Missing Children notices a day. So many that they seem to jumble together. Facebook alone must have hundreds of sites that show these notices. If you add Twitter, Instagram and local news those numbers climb into the thousands.
So how do we fix this noise problem? How do we give the Missing Children the time they deserve? First we have to turn down the noise, focus on fewer notices the ones in your area. Go old school paper fliers are great tools, they can be placed in businesses in the area of where the child went missing, passed out hand to hand to people in the area. Bring back personal times, phones down and talk with the people around you.
By shutting down the noise we can make the Children important again, holding a paper flier with that child picture makes it more intimate and personal. It may sound old and out of date but guess what it works. Holding 1 photo has more power than seeing hundreds on a screen. Print off those fliers and let's get these Children back home.

Just a Preface. Last week a learned friend and I were talking about recent events that befell children. I suppose he sensed my frustrations on this subject as he stated in a attempt to be helpful."Greg you cannot win this struggle against the tide of 20000 years of existence of Human Aberrations." I thought about the seeming truth he said and realized he was right ! Should I just retire ? Later that evening I thought awhile and came up with this conclusion. No we can not win . But we can be there for the child , the family hopes who would wither and die without any help . The error to give up is punctuated with bodies of kids in ditches along forsaken stretches of two lane Blacktop or dingy motel rooms.I chose to still tie a knot in the Devil~s tail and save the ones we can.

Following is a tale involving Children in mortal distress and not for those who are particularly sensitive to grim subject matter. Kids who ran out of life given them and those who took it. There is a disturbing turn in society morals and expectation say we should no longer call s*x offenders Child molesters or Pedophiles . Minor Attracted People are not so bad The heart wants what it wants".Perhaps this might shed light on what that can mean........ Recently there was a tragedy in rural Texas involving a seven year old girl involving a Fed X driver that had been using his delivery van to search for and lure children for an"encounter"> I will just give you a brief description of the little girls conversation unknowingly recorded on the Fed X vans camera.
V : Where are you taking me?
S: Sweety
V: I have school tomorrow!
S: How old are you ?
V: Seven...
S:Where do you go to school ?
v:Is this your house? Where do you live?
S :Far away
V :Where are we going? What are you doing !
S : We are going to hang out for awhile. Take off your shirt !
V :CRYING . She asks "What are you doing? ARE YOU A KIDNAPPER? My mom says you can`t do that !
S : I am not going to hurt you.
V :CRIES: No no no !Take me home to my mom! Why are you doing this?
S : Because you are pretty. You know that??
S : Sings along with radio as he sings"Jingle Belle Rock ".
The Tape records the hour or so it took to kill her.
The heart wants what it wants ............ The double effort of the day was his earlier attempt to lure two little girls into his delivery van. That house belonged to a Constable who scared him off.

This is hard to read, but it gives you an idea of the mind of a child predator. Keep Athena in your prayers....

A jury must decide whether Tanner Horner deserves to die for his crimes. Video and audio evidence of the violent acts could be the deciding factor.

Where????
Where do they go? The children that have been missing for years some for decades. Some of us have asked that question to each other at least once a month and many times even daily. Tens of thousands of children are still missing after decades.
Is there a black hole where children just disappear? Do they just vanish into thin air?
There is no simple answer as much as we would love to have one. For decades investigators have sought to find and answer and yet we have the same simple question, WHERE?
Yes it does get frustrating looking, updating cases but one thing is always the same. We just keep looking, never stopping always looking asking questions, updating pictures and asking for your help. The process is the same, the goal is the same find where this child is, the moyive is always help the family and the child. To say it in a simple way NEVER EVER GIVE UP.
After all if was your CHILD would you give up?
