Pardon our dust — important infrastructure improvements are underway on Greenback Lane. While most of the work happens overnight, our crews are hard at work installing approximately 1,520 feet of new 12-inch water pipe to help improve long-term system reliability .

Work includes:
• Excavation and trenching
• Installing a new water pipe
• Backfilling and pavement restoration
• Coordinating roadway improvements within the work area.

We know construction can be inconvenient, and we appreciate the community’s patience as these important upgrades move forward. These projects help ensure a reliable water system for today and for future generations. 🔧🍊

Citrus Heights Water, along with neighboring water agencies, held their annual poster contest to highlight water awareness.

The theme of this year’s contest was “From Ripple to River.” Students from local schools submitted a wide range of creative and thoughtful entries, each illustrating the journey of water and its importance to our community. These young artists did not disappoint. Thank you to every student who shared their vision—your creativity helps inspire our community!

Check out the video featuring this year’s winners and their posters and starting in July, be sure to stop by our office to pick up a 2027 calendar featuring the artwork! Watch the video at chwd.org/postercontest26. 🎨💧

Plant a Tree. Save Water. Cool Your Yard. Citrus Heights Water is helping promote a regional tree program—in partnership with the Sacramento Tree Foundation and SMUD—to help residents plant the right tree in the right place.

SMUD supports this effort to help expand the community’s tree canopy, and the Sacramento Tree Foundation provides guidance on selecting and caring for the right tree. The right tree in the right place can: Reduce outdoor water demand, Cool your yard and home during summer heat, Lower energy use, Improve neighborhood beauty, and Strengthen our community canopy.

Adding more shade trees in our region helps clean the air, cool neighborhoods, support groundwater, and improve community health. 🌳💦
