These drivers represent the standard Athens carries across routes, facilities, and job types every day.

“Our drivers and frontline Operations team are the ones who keep everything moving safely. They operate heavy equipment, navigate busy streets, look out for one another, and serve our communities with a level of focus and professionalism that often goes unseen. We’re proud to recognize their hard work and the commitment they bring to the job. And to every member of our team keeping Athens safe and successful: THANK YOU.” - Matt Niklas, Senior Executive Vice President of Operations

From clothing and shoes to household textiles, too many reusable materials still end up in the trash.

As proud sponsors of the Los Angeles Textile Recovery Event, Athens joined community leaders to explore opportunities for textile recovery and recycling across Los Angeles County. By finding new ways to keep valuable materials in use, we can reduce waste, conserve resources, and support a more circular economy.

How do you give your clothes, fabrics, and textiles a second life? Share your favorite way to reuse, repair, donate, or repurpose them in the comments below!

Growing a greener Los Angeles starts at the community level.

Athens Services was proud to participate in Koreatown Youth + Community Center's Tree Adoption event last week at Lafayette Park, where our team distributed 50 bags of Athens compost! Healthy trees start with healthy soil, and compost plays an important role in supporting both. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about reducing waste and putting valuable resources back to work in our communities.

This "Learn About Day," we’re spotlighting how your food scraps help feed the soil in our communities.

Composting is one of the most effective ways to create a circular system by transforming waste into a valuable resource. Through American Organics, Athens turns food scraps, food-soiled paper, and yard waste into nutrient-rich compost that we distribute through free community giveaway events to support homes, gardens, parks, landscaping, and community programs across Southern California.

Every green bin collected helps divert waste from landfills and supports California’s SB 1383! Here’s two easy ways to help:
• Use your green bin for food scraps and yard waste
• Keep contamination OUT of green containers (no plastic or trash!)
