We had a great time at the Randall Children’s Hospital Touch-A-Truck event at the Clackamas Community College Harmony Campus this weekend!

U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Oregon: Mexican National Extradited from Canada Sentenced to 14 Years in Federal Prison for Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

This case was investigated by the DEA, the FBI, the Portland Police Bureau, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, the Clackamas County Interagency Task Force (CCITF) and the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon is prosecuting the case. The Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs worked with Canadian authorities to secure the arrest and July 2024 extradition of Cruz-Lerma from Canada.

CCITF, led by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, works to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking organizations operating in and around Clackamas County, and reduce illegal drugs and related crimes throughout the community.

The task force is comprised of members from the Canby Police Department, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and the Oregon National Guard Counterdrug Task Force. CCITF is supported by our community with funding from the Public Safety Levy and grant funding from the Oregon-Idaho High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program.

A Mexican national was sentenced to federal prison yesterday for conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in the Portland area, the Oregon coast, and Olympia, Washington, leading to the murder of a victim who owed a drug debt.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating missing and endangered 21-year-old Emalee Anna Bennett-Hofmann.

Emalee was last seen around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at her residence on Southeast Bell Avenue in unincorporated Clackamas County.

Emalee is autistic, semi-verbal, and is without prescribed medication that may be life-threatening if not taken.

She was last seen wearing a gray Beatles T-shirt, blue pajama pants, and green Crocs.

Investigators believe she may be traveling toward southern Oregon or California.

If you see Emalee, call or text 911 immediately.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Non-Emergency Line at 503-655-8211 and reference CCSO Case #26-013255.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to Canby Community Park, located at 1348 S. Berg Parkway in Canby, after receiving a report that a man had gone underwater while swimming in the Molalla River. Callers reported he was out of the water but remained unresponsive.

Personnel from several agencies, including the Canby Police Department, Canby Fire Department, and the Sheriff's Office Marine Unit, responded to the scene.

Despite lifesaving efforts, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Deputies determined the man was not wearing a life jacket when he entered the water.

The Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene. The man's identity will not be released until family notifications have been completed.
