Okla “Marie” Webster, age 65 of Corbin, KY, passed away on the 5 year anniversary of her mother passing on Friday, August 21, 2026. She was born on March 13, 1961. She really enjoyed working with the Clearfork Community Institute as its Director. She was involved with planning and setting up events and even had a women’s group who met there. Marie cared a lot about women’s rights and women’s independence. She also strongly advocated to save the mountains of East Tennessee. She was very empathetic and forgiving. Marie was a strong woman who was loved by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death: mother, Brenda Marie Partin; father, Morris J. Webster; step-father, Doyle Ray Partin; brothers, Bobby Webster, Kevin Partin, Byrd Webster; and sister, Laura Jean Taylor; sister-in-law, Becca Webster; nephews, Timothy Webster and Josh Webster.

She is survived by: children, Melenia Hatfield, Candace Horn, Michael Horn; grandchildren, Ariana Coffey, Raylan Marlow, and many others who saw her as a role model; siblings, Leonard Webster and wife Sandra, Timothy Webster, and Tammy Partin; several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

It’s with a heavy and broken heart that I have to post that Marie Webster passed away quietly yesterday afternoon Friday, August 21st. Marie and I were more than coworkers, she was my dear friend. We worked together for many years even though over the past few years we no longer worked together we remained friends. Marie would always reach out to see if she could help me in anyway. Just a few weeks ago she so wanted to help with Camp Clearfork even though she was starting another round of chemotherapy. She was unable to but just knowing she wanted to meant so much to me. I visited with her the last week and brought homemade banana bread that she had requested and she was laughing how she wasn’t going to share with anyone. I am so glad that I could spend a few hours with her laughing and talking together not knowing it would be our last conversation even though we messaged each other after that visit. I hope she knew how much she meant to me and all our years together.

It is so hard to say goodbye to my dear friend, your passing will leave a void in my heart. Rest well my friend and know that you were loved by so many.
