It was an honor to help remember and recognize our fallen military servicemen and servicewomen on Memorial Day at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, Funeral Home, and Crematory in Pleasant Hills.

Many thanks to owner Harry Neel for continuing the tradition and good friend Cheryl Hirsch for attending.

This Memorial Day, let us pause to remember the more than 1.1 million men and women who died protecting the liberties we cherish every single day.

We are truly blessed to live in this nation, and also grateful that many of our communities have organized remembrances -- parades and ceremonies -- to honor the fallen. Thank you to all of those volunteers who spend countless hours ensuring that those who gave their lives will never be forgotten.

President James A. Garfield said it best: "For love of country they accepted death, and thus resolved all doubts, and made immortal their patriotism and their virtue."

On Saturday, I worked with Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin Kraus to hold an event in our district to allow Allegheny County residents to obtain their concealed carry permit.

We had a steady line all day with just over 1,000 people coming through the Jefferson Hills Community Room.

The Rams beat the Burrell High School Bucs in thrilling fashion by a score of 3-2 to clinch the title in March.

Thank you to the Herald Standard for writing an article on this important issue.

I first introduced legislation just over three years ago to prohibit the sale, possession and manufacture of tianeptine, commonly refers to as “gas station he**in."

Fayette County’s coroner called for a nationwide ban on tianeptine Tuesday after the county had its first accidental overdose death due strictly to the drug. Also referred to colloquially as “gas station he**in,” tianeptine is most commonly sold in retail outlets like v**e shops or online, Dr....

One of my job responsibilities I take very seriously is reading every word in a bill before I make a vote. As an attorney, I know how if a word or phrase is even slightly changed it can have a huge impact.

While reviewing House Bill 980, which I co-prime sponsored, I found an error that could have unintentionally created a third category of members on the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy.

My technical amendment was unanimously approved.

During legislative session this week, I supported two bills – House Bills 2150 and 2151 – that are focused on protecting our communities from the potential negative effects of data centers.

Legislators need to ensure that data centers do not negatively impact the residents of our Commonwealth by disturbing neighborhoods or raising energy prices. It is essential that their placement must be left in the hands of local governments.

House Bill 2150 would require data center operators to make annual disclosures to the state detailing the amount of water and electricity their facilities consume. House Bill 2151 seeks to direct the state Local Government Commission to produce model ordinances for municipal officials to employ when planning for potential data center development.
