BBA International Trade Council meeting March 24, 2016.

Chilton County has 9 companies that do international trade directly or indirectly throughout the world. The Chilton County IDB is represented on the Birmingham Business Alliance International Trade Council.
At a recent meeting, discussion was held on the financial impact by the Export-Import Bank, the trade treaty with the Asian companies, and agricultural trade with Cuba.
Education program for companies were discussed and will be forthcoming for Chilton County businesses that want to learn more about trade.
A Trade Mission for Mexico and Chile is planned by the State of Alabama in September. If you are interested, there is an educational program about the trip on April 22, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in Birmingham. Contact Fred Crawford for more information on the meeting.
In August there is the 5th Annual Global Supply Chain and Logistics Summit in Mobile. This is a good networking conference for development.
If your company is interested in exporting your products, there are educational programs and other events that may help you in working toward the goal of expanding. The U.S. Department of Commerce and the University of Alabama's International Trade Center can help you increase your knowledge of the need in that country and other related information.
