The City of Flint’s water continues to meet state and federal standards for lead in drinking water as the city prepares to replace remaining lead service lines identified through ongoing inventory requirements under Michigan’s Lead and Copper Rule.

As Flint enters its 10th year of compliance, the city has consistently tested below action levels since 2016. The most recent six-month testing period (July–December 2025) showed lead levels of 6 parts per billion—well below state and federal action levels.

Nearly all residential lead service lines have been replaced, with work continuing in 2026 to remove the remaining lines.
