School is back in session and so are the City of Claremont’s FREE after-school youth programs!

Looking for a safe, fun place for your middle or high schooler to spend time after school? The City of Claremont has two free youth programs designed to provide a welcoming space for students to connect, create, learn, and have fun.

📍 T.R.A.C.K.S. Activity Center (TAC)
Located on the El Roble Intermediate School campus, the TAC is a free after-school program for middle school students who attend El Roble. It’s a fun and safe place for students to hang out, connect with friends, and participate in activities after school.

📍 Youth Activity Center (YAC)
Located next to Claremont High School at Joat Park, the YAC offers a free, inclusive drop-in space for high school students. Youth can enjoy a game of pool or ping-pong, video games, music, art projects, homework time, or simply hang out and connect with peers and staff.

Both programs offer:
· Free workshops
· Peer support groups
· Wellness and mental health resources
· Informational services

And there’s even more time to enjoy it! Both programs now have extended hours until 6pm, giving participants an extra hour of activities and fun.

At its September 8 meeting, the City Council will hold a study session to review the Ordinance and discuss how the program has operated since its implementation in 2006. The discussion will help inform the City Council’s direction to staff regarding potential next steps for the Ordinance.

Community members who wish to provide public comment may:

· Submit written comments to Senior Management Analyst Alex Cousins at [email protected].

· Provide comments in person or via Zoom during the September 8 City Council meeting.
