Andrew O'Hearne for Sullivan County Sheriff 2016 I am running for Sullivan County Sheriff because I care about the community. Short and sweet.

I am a lifelong Sullivan County resident, and even worked in the community my entire life.

Many of you know me as "Officer O'Hearne," as I have been employed by the Claremont Police Department for three decades.
​
I first started as a cadet in the early 80's and then became a dispatcher before joining the ranks as a police officer for the city. During my career with the City of Claremont, I ha

ve worked under retired Chief/Sheriff Prozzo both at Claremont and also at the Sheriff's Department as a Deputy. In addition to my duties to the Claremont community, I have worked in the Town of Unity as a police officer during the 90's.

Over the last thirty plus years in public service, I have taken advantage of numerous training, leadership, and administrative opportunities, including classes at Boston University, FEMA, as well as numerous advanced training classes and certifications through the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Academy. This advanced education not only helps me better serve the community, and help keep fellow officers safe, but also hone my leadership and management skills. I am also serving my second term as New Hampshire State Representative of the General Court in Concord, and proud to have served a School Board member here in Sullivan County.

Working on the streets, in investigations, and the extensive training I have received has allowed me the opportunity to know the community, and the people in it. Throughout my career I have always strived to do the right thing by the community. I am very proud of my service, and given respect to everyone I have come in contact with. In fact, you will even hear that the people who have been given tickets or arrested through the years have been treated with the utmost respect.

I know that I can continue my service to Sullivan County, as your High Sheriff, through fiscal responsibility, respect for the citizens, and professional leadership, which is beyond reproach.

Good morning friends -

First, I wanted to thank you for all your support in my effort to seek the office of High Sheriff for Sullivan County. I know that I will serve the community with the same passion and compassion that has driven me and held be grounded for over 30 years of public service.

We have only a few weeks left in the campaign, and now more than ever, I need your help. I need to you help spread the word of my campaign, my plans for moving Sullivan County forward, providing better service, accountability, and responsible budgeting and expenses, all of which impact you, your family, and your wallet.

Please let me know if you would like me to speak at your school, church, or civic group. Also, if you would like to hold a meet and greet with your neighborhood or friends, I would love to meet each and every one I can over the next few weeks.

More than ever, as police officers, we need to critically examine our role in the community, our practices, and even training. As society changes, we must evolve. My administration WILL evolve with the community, as transparency and an understanding between law enforcement and the community becomes paramount.
