Just wanted to remind everyone, that we are still in a burn ban until it expires or the county commissioners vote to end it. So please no burning even though we have received a little bit of rain

FIRE WEATHER WATCH is in effect for most of northeast Oklahoma Tuesday.

Locally Tulsa, Wagoner, Rogers, Adair, and Hughes Counties are now under burn bans, but I recommend NO OUTDOOR BURNING anywhere Tuesday as the fire danger will be high to near critical across the entire region.

ROGERS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ENACT IMMEDIATE BURN BAN

All outdoor burning is prohibited within Rogers County until the ban is lifted. The resolution was passed pursuant to the authority granted under Oklahoma Statutes, Title 2, ยง 16-26(B), the Oklahoma Forestry Code.

Rogers County Sheriff's Office will enforce the ban and is authorized to issue citations to individuals found in violation. Any person convicted of violating a county-issued burn ban is guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine of not more than $500, imprisonment for up to one year, or both.

๐Ÿ”ด RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT
Oklahoma Forestry Services dozer crews are staged at the Claremore EXPO Center and ready to respond across Rogers County. Our area fire departments are on full alert with three separate fire crews ready to deploy โ€” both within the county and up to 50 miles out.
We are prepared, but the best wildfire is the one that never starts.
๐Ÿšซ DO NOT BURN TODAY. No exceptions.
Open burning on a Red Flag Warning Day puts lives, homes, and property at serious risk. Dry conditions, low humidity, and high winds mean a small spark can become a catastrophe in minutes.
Help us keep Rogers County safe โ€” put it off until conditions improve.

Gusty winds in the forecast and dry grass across much of Green Country are keeping rural fire departments on alert as crews prepare for what could be a busy spring fire season.

Despite light rain over the weekend, fire officials say conditions remain dry enough for grass fires to ignite and spread quickly, especially with wind gusts expected to reach up to 40 miles per hour in some areas this week.
