The barn ban has been extended.

🔥 BURN BAN EXTENDED — ROGERS COUNTY 🔥

The Rogers County Board of County Commissioners voted today to continue the countywide burn ban. It will be re-evaluated at the Board's regular meeting on Monday, September 28.

Nothing changes for you. Do not burn.

It remains unlawful in Rogers County to:
🚫 Set fire to any grass, brush, crops, or wildland
🚫 Build a campfire or bonfire
🚫 Burn trash or any material that could start a wildfire

Why, when we just got rain?

Because a wet weekend doesn't undo months of deficit. The grass and brush that carry a wildfire dry back out within a day or two of sun and wind. Drought is measured in months, not weekends — and the commissioners weigh the full picture: drought classification, the rainfall forecast, how many fires we're running, and the concurrence of our county fire chiefs.

🔥 BURN BAN UPDATE: STILL IN EFFECT 🔥

The Rogers County burn ban remains in effect right now. Nothing has changed and no outdoor burning is permitted.

The Board of County Commissioners will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, September 16th to consider whether to extend the ban or let it expire.

Until the Commissioners act, the ban stands. It is still unlawful to burn.

We know it rained. Here's why that doesn't automatically end it. ⬇️

A weekend of rain is not the same thing as the end of a drought.

We'll post and share the Commissioners' decision and the special meeting details from Rogers County as soon as it's made.

We had our 9/11 memorial stair climb/track walk last night. 9 foyil firefighters and 1 tri- district firefighter were joined by friends and family for an evening of climbing and walking. If you have any photos you’d like to share please do so in the comments. WE REMEMBER

THE NIGHT BEFORE 9/11

Tonight, 25 years ago, it was just another night.

Firefighters went home to their families, never knowing that the next day would ask more of them than anyone could have imagined.

First responders went to bed, unaware that they would soon be running toward a danger unlike anything they had ever faced.

Civilians went about their lives—parents, children, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, friends, and strangers—never knowing that September 11 would forever change their lives and our nation.

Nobody knew what was coming.

There were no warnings in the quiet of that night that the world would look completely different by the next evening.

So tonight, we remember the people who lived their last ordinary night without knowing it was their last.

We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military personnel, first responders, and civilians who lost their lives.

We remember their families, their sacrifices, and the countless lives forever changed.

And we remember the spirit that followed—the way Americans came together, helped one another, and stood as one.

25 years later, may we never forget.

May we remember not only the tragedy of 9/11, but the unity of 9/12.

🇺🇸 Remember. Honor. Unite.
