WATER SERVICE NOTICE

City crews will be replacing a damaged fire hydrant at Washington Street and Lynn Riggs Boulevard.

Water service to businesses along Lynn Riggs Boulevard, from 1st Street to Ramm Road, will be temporarily shut off beginning at 11:00 p.m. tonight.

Repairs are expected to take approximately six hours.

Happy Labor Day Weekend, Claremore!

Please note that City Hall and other municipal facilities will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

However, all sanitation routes will remain on their normal schedules.

Please also note that, due to the holiday, the next Claremore City Council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8.

The Rogers County Board of County Commissioners enacted a 14-day countywide burn ban during an emergency meeting this morning, September 2, 2026. The burn ban is effective immediately due to extreme fire danger conditions across Rogers County.

Please help protect our community and our first responders by avoiding all prohibited burning activities while the ban is in effect.

Rogers County Burn Ban Takes Effect Following Emergency Commissioners Meeting

CLAREMORE, OKLA. - The Rogers County Board of County Commissioners approved an emergency burn ban during a special meeting held on September 2, 2026, after determining that extreme fire danger conditions exist throughout the county.

The resolution was adopted based on severe drought conditions identified by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), minimal rainfall forecast over the next three days, and a significantly higher-than-normal number of fire incidents occurring across Rogers County and the region. The action was taken with the documented concurrence of a majority of local municipal and rural fire department chiefs.

Under the burn ban, it is unlawful to set fire to grass, brush, forests, crops, or other wildlands, as well as conduct outdoor burning activities such as campfires, bonfires, or burning trash and debris that could potentially start a wildfire.

The burn ban will remain in effect for up to 14 days, through September 15, 2026, unless lifted earlier by the Board of County Commissioners.

County officials urge all residents to use extreme caution with any outdoor activities that could create sparks or ignite dry vegetation. With ongoing drought conditions and elevated wildfire risk, public cooperation is essential to protect lives, property, and emergency responders.

🚧 Frederick Road Utility Relocation Project – Upcoming Road Closure

The Frederick Road Utility Relocation Project is planning a temporary closure of Frederick Road beginning Tuesday, September 1.

📍 Closure area: Between SW Deer Trail and Claremore Creek Apartments.

During the project:

• Residents of Claremore Creek and Claremore Flats will need to access their neighborhoods from Highway 20.

• Anyone north of the closure will need to access Frederick Road from the north end.

Once the road crossing is complete, Frederick Road will re-open to local traffic only for the duration of the project. Local traffic includes anyone living on Frederick Road between Highway 20 and Lowe’s.

We ask that citizens avoid the area whenever possible to help the contractor work safely and efficiently and to minimize delays.

A significant milestone has been reached for the Claremore Data Center Project, located in the Claremore Industrial Park.

The property transaction has closed and the agreements governing the project’s development and financial commitments are now finalized, marking an important step forward for this major investment in Claremore.

The agreements include more than $180 million in anticipated PILOT payments, community funding and infrastructure-related deposits, along with additional financial protections for the City.

Over the next 30 years, the project is also expected to generate more than $400 million in electric revenue and sales tax, creating additional resources that can be reinvested in Claremore’s infrastructure and public services.

With this milestone complete, the project will move into its next phase, including applicable permitting, regulatory review and other standard development processes.

This is an important step forward for Claremore, and we’re excited to see the opportunities this investment can bring to our community.

Today, Claremore celebrated a major milestone, the completion of $28 million in improvements to the City’s water treatment plant!

This significant investment strengthens an essential piece of our community’s infrastructure and reflects the City’s continued commitment to preparing Claremore for the future.

The improvements modernized the water treatment system with a focus on water quality, treatment reliability and long-term performance. Key upgrades include new greensand filtration and chemical feed systems, enhancements to existing treatment lagoons, a rerouted lagoon outfall and renovations to existing facilities.

The work was completed by Burns & McDonnell in partnership with the City of Claremore and Inframark, an Azuria Water Solutions Company, and with support from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality.

The City has also made previous investments to increase water system capacity, giving Claremore a strong foundation to support residents, industry and future development as our community continues to grow.

We are proud to celebrate this achievement and grateful to the partners who helped make this significant investment in Claremore’s future possible.

A reminder that BNSF Railway crews are conducting and managing track and railroad crossing rehabilitation work in Claremore.

The following crossings will be temporarily closed as BNSF completes this work:

🚧 Blue Starr Road: Closed through August 26
🚧 Lowry Road: Closed August 26–29

BNSF crews will generally work from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Train traffic will resume after 2:00 p.m. and may be heavier and more consistent than usual during evening and overnight hours.

Please plan ahead, allow extra time and use alternate routes as needed.

🚆 Lowry Road
📅 August 26 at 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM through August 29

Please plan ahead, allow extra time for your commute, and use an alternate route during the closures.

PLEASE NOTE- This closure will increase rain traffic through the evening and overnight hours.
