Been a lot going on at the park lately. Had another incident where around 15 plants were taken again. I will be looking further into it. We need to start doing better.

Good evening. I’ve been sent a post regarding a Tan Van that is rusted out. From the post I’ve seen it’s been floating around Clarence and stanwood by the railroad tracks. There is approximately 3 occupants in the vehicle. Cedar County and myself have been trying to locate it to make sure everything is okay.

With that being said. . . If the matter is worthy of a Facebook post it’s a good idea to reach out to law enforcement to check on the issue. As Facebook is a great tool for passing along information to others it is not the best for law enforcement to get their information in a timely manner.

If you do happen to see the vehicle please reach out to Cedar County Dispatch to help get this situation resolved.

To note . . . If there is anything happening in town that needs reported always reach out to Cedar County. I do not have my office phone turned on because I am rarely there. As far as my duty phone goes, some do have the number to it. If I am not “ On duty “ more than likely I will not answer a call unless it comes from Cedar County Dispatch.

**Update from last post**

I spent this morning reviewing footage. The cameras at the park detect motion. (Which has been changed to constant recording) With that being said the flowers were taken on 06/07/2026 between 1400 - 1700 with no recordings of motion in that time frame.

This gives me reason to believe an animal might have had their way with them. I say this because the cameras do not detect motion from smaller animals or dogs from what I noticed.

It was brought to my attention between 06/07/2026 and 06/08/2026 that there were some flowers that were taken from the liberty statue in the park. With that being said there are cameras in the park that face that way. If you or someone you know took them please return them. The group works very hard to maintain and make our park and Main Street look great.

If someone is missing a black lab this one was just by highway 30 between Rose and Spicer Ave. it’s now going North through the field across the train tracks.

If you guys are to travel tonight be cautious. Going south out of town on Quincy ave there is a lot of drifts that have blown into the highway. Going West towards Stanwood is a sheet of ice. East bound towards Lowden is not terrible.

Another thing to note as of right now on 1st ave and Piatt the drifts are completely covering the road so do not try to go that direction.

If you can avoid having to travel I highly recommend it. With that being said the are predicting more snow to come our way so be safe.
