With the start of the 22-23 school year quickly approaching, I decided it was time to assign admin rights of this page to your new principal, Tanner Carlson. While I have certainly enjoyed the first two months of my retirement, it does feel very strange to not be busily preparing for the return of staff and students! I know that you are in good hands with Mr. Carlson. He will be a great leader.
In my final post I have two things to share. First, I would like to thank the entire North Cedar community for your support during my time as Jr/Sr High Principal. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve this district. I have always felt at home here and can’t imagine having found a better place to spend the last six years of my administrative career. I do plan to stay connected with the district in various ways including attending events as a grandparent, volunteering, and maybe even a little subbing.
And second, you will notice that Jack, my beloved black lab, has been removed from the profile picture. That is not only because I have retired, but because he crossed the rainbow bridge last spring. I didn't have the heart to take his photo down then, but it is time. Being a therapy dog came so naturally to him. I never stopped being amazed at the effect he had on kids and adults. I was truly fortunate to have him by my side. Because of Jack, even if someone didn't know my name, they knew I was "that principal with the dog". My husband said it best...Jack was a legend. RIP buddy. 5/12/09 - 3/25/22.
