Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has provided more than 300 million books to children around the world. Parton wanted to give the gift of reading as a way to honor of her father.

With the start of the new school year, we wanted to let you know that free online tutoring is available through Tutor-dot-com with your CHPL card. They offer one-on-one homework help, test prep, and writing assistance for students in grades K-12 (plus adults). No appointment is necessary! Tutors are available 3:00 pm - 10:00 pm.

Just find the Tutor-dot-com link on our website under Research Resources, then log in with your CHPL card number.

This group meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month. We read a mix of fiction, non-fiction, and classic novels.

Woo hoo! We are celebrating this awesome young reader who read 1,000 books before kindergarten! Way to go!!

Reading aloud to a child is one of the best ways to help develop important early literacy skills which will prepare them for kindergarten. It is also a great way to bond with your child and to encourage a love of reading!

Sign up for our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Challenge by visiting the Youth Services desk to register and to pick up your child's reading challenge activity book. Visit the Beanstack app or website to start logging the books read. The activity book works hand-in-hand with the Beanstack software.
