Another overflowing box of eyeglasses to find new homes at Lions International Headquarters. Thank you to all our drop off box locations; Village Hall of Clarendon Hills, Clarendon Hills Library, Clarendon Hills Bank, Hamel Dental, Moda Eyewear, Willowbrook Bank and Birches Assisted Living and Memory Care. Also a big thank you to the Walker School Recycling Event that yielded a full bag of glasses.

During our monthly dinner meeting on May 11th at J. Fleming’s Absolutely Delicious Restaurant in Westmont, we had the thrill of inducting 4 new members and the honor to present The Melvin Jones Fellowship Award to Dr. Mirjana McCarthy for all her work to provide exams and eyeglasses for students in need.

Yesterday 18 Clarendon Hills Lions and friends volunteered at the Special Olympics Games at Marmion Academy. It started off a bit wet but ended up being a beautiful day and an amazing experience.

Our special guest at our Monday Lions Dinner Meeting was Jenni Isenhower from the Chicago Chapter of Foundation Fighting Blindness. Our Club President Brian Keating is presenting our donation to Jenni. Thank you J. Fleming’s Absolutely Delicious for a delicious meal.

Join us today for our public Baby Shower at The Open Door Taproom & Bottleshop in Clarendon Hills between 2-5pm!! Bring baby supply donations or adult hygiene supplies to support HCS Family Services! All bottle purchases today at The Open Door, 10% of total proceeds will go to HCS! Let us fill the van to support local families in need! PLEASE SHARE for one last push to donate baby supplies (no toys please!) for HCS Family Services at any of our designated drop off locations by Friday 3p if you cannot make it to our event this Saturday at The Open Door in Village of Clarendon Hills 2-5pm!!

Another Lions Club Christmas Tree sales season has ended. We want to thank all our customers for your patronage. All net proceeds will be donated back to local area charities, over 20 different ones. Thank you Lions for working the sales season and a special thank you to the members pictured who came out to take down the sales lot and officially end the season.
