🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, the Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department remembers the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honors the countless people whose lives were forever changed that day.

We especially remember the 343 firefighters of the FDNY, along with the police officers, EMS personnel, military members, and all the brave first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting others will never be forgotten.

🚒 We honor the heroes.
🇺🇸 We will never forget.

The entire state of Arkansas is now under a burn ban. ZERO burning of anything. Especially with winds, even a small fire in your backyard can get easily out of control!

Risk levels are determined by fuel conditions, drought status, and long-term weather forecasts. They are categorized by how easily fires can start and how hard they are to contain. The risk level definitions are:

When burn bans are in place and fire danger is high or extreme, the choices we make outdoors matter. Outdoor debris burning should be avoided entirely, because even a small fire can escape and become a wildfire under dry conditions.

Residents should stay aware of conditions in their area by checking the Department’s county-by-county map: https://mip.agri.arkansas.gov/agtools/Forestry/Fire_Info

Your actions can prevent wildfires and protect the firefighters who respond when one starts.
