Do you live on Ensign road? Joe and the team finished Essex Court ditching and started on Ensign road (reel). This is being done ahead of resurfacing the road (scheduled for calendar year 2027!). They will be working on Ensign the rest of the week. Please use caution as the men are working and be sure to give them a friendly wave đź‘‹. -JT

A message from the Claridon road team:

We teamed up with local Claridon business, Dirt Dynamics, to keep our roads safe and dry.

We're out clearing ditches to protect our community's infrastructure. Clear ditches (channels) pulls rain away from the road fast which keeps the road base dry preventing asphalt from cracking and collapsing.

Check out the ease of the flow on Stoney Springs (west). It's been decades since any ditching has been done on some of these roads. We've gotten a lot done this past week. Thanks to the many residents who thanked us. Your affirmation of our effort means the world to us! Have a great weekend!

Now serving ice cream Claridon! Congratulations Sonya, owner of Sonya's Country Style Drive-in! Located on 322 across from Headwaters Park, this is a convenient store. Sonya put an addition on so she can serve soft serve ice cream noon until 9:00pm. Sonya said this ice cream is a higher quality mix and more dense. I just tried it, and I agree! Come say hi to her and enjoy the ice cream! (I made sure to get the menu in the picture). -JT

Happy Sunday Claridon. We moved our regularly scheduled trustee meeting on Aug 17 to this Wednsday, August 12 at 6p. We did this in order to have a quorum. Jen Jones with Geauga Trumbull Solid Waste District will be a guest. She will talk about the future of recycling. We also will vote on a resolution to sell Aquilla Village Hall because the board sees no benefit to keep it in our books as an added expenditure. We'll also be sharing the history of how Claridon voted on every proposed township levy since the 1970s and discuss our current and near-future operational revenue verse expenditures and our Fire/EMS revenue verse our contracts. There will be other items on the agenda as well. You are welcomed and encourage to come to meetings. After all, we work for you. -JT
