Happy EMS Week 2026!

Answering the call every day and night, our amazing crew is recognized this week for their dedicated service to Clarion and all the training and hard work they put in!!

A huge THANK YOU to Pam and Mark from First Citizens Bank for providing dinner for us last night! It was delicious and we appreciate your ongoing support of EMS.

THE BELMOND POLICE DEPARTMENT WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE WHO CALLED IN, STOPPED US, OR REACHED OUT IN ANY OTHER WAY! OUR COMMUNITY IS PHENOMENAL!!!
The Belmond Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a Missing Juvenile:
Zoey Cother was last seen in Belmond before bed on April 28, 2026.
Zoey is a white, 15 year old female, approximately 5 7, 110 lbs.
Zoey is believed to be in the Spencer, Iowa area.

Mercy College of Health Sciences will again be offering an EMT course beginning May 11. This course is formatted to deliver one weekly online instruction session and one in-person skills night each week. We had great success in our last class and want to keep the momentum going. Sponsorship may be available for Clarion-area individuals!

Mercy College in Des Moines, Iowa, has been transforming students into healthcare professionals through bachelor, associate, and certificate programs.

Our crew have been busy this month. We had a visit from Simulation in Motion for a night of education and hands-on skills performance review on April 13. Using state-of-the-art human patient simulation manikins, we worked through both pediatric and adult scenarios, some of which are more common and some that are not. We are thankful to have this valuable resource available to us and are excited to bring QUARTERLY trainings to Clarion in 2027!!

Moving forward, we have hazardous materials refresher training night, EMS week May 17-23, Festival in the Park, and the Wright County Fair in July. New EMT class will be offered beginning in August.

The end of June will bring another big change in our service - we’ll show you soon!! 🚑

We are accepting applications for Ambulance Drivers. Ideal candidates would have availability for daytime shifts 2 weekdays per week. No experience necessary but you must be over 18, have a clean driving record, and pass background check.

Please check your water before starting laundry!
1. To avoid drawing sediment/rust particles into the hot water heater, turn on the cold water tap first to check for discolored water.
2. If the water looks discolored run the cold tap water for a few minutes until it clears.
• Residents may experience temporary low water pressure while flushing is being conducted.
• Extended Impact: Adjacent neighborhoods may also experience temporary water discoloration.
• Safety Assurance: Laboratory testing confirms that, despite discoloration, the water remains safe and free from harmful bacteria.

We appreciate your patience as we complete this vital maintenance.
