Sheriff Shawn Zerfoss is pleased to release the following data from 2025 to the public:

During 2025, the Clarion County Sheriff’s Office served 221 Court of Common Pleas warrants.

Throughout 2025 to date, the Sheriff and his deputies completed 340 prisoner transports. These transports included movements to and from the Clarion County Jail and the courthouse, transfers to other county jails within Pennsylvania, transports to and from State Correctional Institutions (SCI), and occasional out-of-county or out-of-state transports as required by court order.

During 2025, the office processed and issued 1,491 Licenses to Carry Fi****ms.
The Sheriff’s Office completed 344 civil document/process services.

Also in 2025, two deputies successfully graduated from the PCCD Act 2 Academy, further strengthening the office’s professional and training standards.

Sheriff Shawn Zerfoss issued the following critical warning to all Clarion County residents regarding a recent phone scam:

“The Clarion County Sheriff’s Office will never contact you asking for money. No police agency in the county will call you demanding payment to avoid arrest for a missed court appearance or fine. If we contact you regarding an active warrant, we will always direct you to the appropriate court office to handle the fine or appearance—we will not process payment over the phone.

“I strongly urge all residents, if you receive a phone call from someone claiming to be from my office and demanding payment, to simply hang up immediately. Do not provide any personal information or agree to meet them.”

How to protect yourself:

Do NOT provide personal or financial information.
NEVER send money or pay with gift cards, cryptocurrency, or wire transfers to someone demanding payment over the phone.
Verify independently: Call the agency back using a number from their official website (not one the caller gives you) to confirm if there's a real issue.

The Clarion County Sheriff’s Office stands in solidarity with York County during this difficult time. We honor the fallen members of law enforcement and send heartfelt condolences to their families and communities.

Three police officers were fatally shot and two others were wounded while executing a search warrant on Wednesday.
