With the 82 anniversary of D-Day this last weekend, here is a story to think about.

Last weekend was the Winnebago Council’s Spring Camporee held at Wilder Park outside of Allison. The scouts worked on their cycling merit badge and completed a 15 mile ride to Clarksville on the Rolling Prairie Trail.
On a side note: Wilder Park is quite impressive. A hidden gem right on the highway.

Took a small but mighty trio to the Klondike derby at Ingawanis Adventure Base last Saturday. These three guided the sled down Big John and then pulled it back up to the finish line. Showed off their skills with flint and steel, used their tripod lashings, and navigated a first aid scenario. It was a good day and a strong showing.

Troop 1047 are selling Christmas Wreath again this year. These are very beautiful wreaths that are well made and hold there natural color very well throughout the holiday season. If you are not contacted by a scout reach out to Scoutmaster Andrew Tew or Committee Chair Tim Hamilton. The money earned helps pay for scouts to go to camp. The troop is planning a trek to Philmont to hike the mountains of New Mexico summer of 2026.

Beautiful weather today!! Lots of activity going on. Wrapping up tomorrow. The majority of equipment will get packed up tomorrow and only the essentials too take down on Saturday. Let’s hope the rain holds off.

Running behind this week. Troop 1047 left Sunday for a week of summer camp at Camp Mitigwa. Has been hot and humid. Little rain last night and cooler temps the next couple days.
