Today we had an absolute blast helping with Field Day at Fairview Elementary! ☀️🚒💦

This is the side of our job we don’t always get to experience, but when we do, it means so much to us. Being a part of this community goes far beyond fighting fires and responding to emergencies, it’s also about building relationships, making memories, and pouring into the lives of the youth in our community.

A few of our own even got soaked in the fun while providing water from one of our fire trucks for the kids to cool off and play in! We are thankful for opportunities like this and for the chance to spend time with such an amazing group of students and staff.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Yearwood & Mrs. Chappelear’s 4th grade class at Demorest Elementary for honoring our First Responders through a special service project!

The students collected snacks for our Fire & EMS personnel and stuffed animals for our Police Department to help comfort children during difficult situations.

Acts of kindness like this mean so much to our departments and our community. We always enjoy opportunities to connect with the youth of Habersham County, and it’s encouraging to see these students already making such a positive impact through service and compassion.

Thank you for thinking of and supporting those who serve our community every day!

Last Wednesday, March 15, our Emergency Services personnel participated in a large-scale emergency disaster drill at Piedmont University in Demorest. 🚑🚒

Exercises like this help our teams prepare for disaster scenarios and strengthen our ability to respond quickly and effectively. While we hope an event of this magnitude never impacts our community, being trained and ready is essential.

This drill also provided a valuable opportunity for our crews to collaborate with agencies from across Habersham County and Northeast Georgia, building strong partnerships that are critical during real emergencies.

Thank you to Piedmont University for once again allowing us to be part of this outstanding training exercise and for supporting the safety and preparedness of our community.

Join us on Sunday, May 17th for a fun-filled afternoon! Food will be available for purchase, and kids can become firefighters for the afternoon—crawling through tunnels, putting out a pretend fire, and having a blast while training like those who serve our community! 🚒

The firefighter experience is just $5 per child, and all purchases and donations will go towards supporting Habersham County firefighters in need.

Plus, every junior firefighter will go home with their very own helmet! 🧑‍🚒
