The Lackawanna County Commissioners will receive sealed bids at the Controller’s Office in the Lackawanna County Government Center at the Globe, 123 Wyoming Avenue, 2nd Floor, Scranton, PA 18503 until 11:00 am, Thursday May 28th, 2026.
Bids shall be sent to the Lackawanna County Controllers Office by courier (FedEx, UPS, etc.). Alternatively, those contractors wishing to drop off bids may do so by contacting the Lackawanna County Controller’s office upon arrival. Bids will be officially opened and read aloud at a Public Bid Opening to be held at 2:00 pm the same day in the Lackawanna County Government Center at the Globe, 123 Wyoming Ave., 5th-floor Commissioner’s Board Room, Scranton, PA.
Bids are Invited for the following Community Development Block Grant Project(s):
CLARKS SUMMIT BOROUGH HILLSIDE SENIOR CENTER 2026 RENOVATION PROJECT as designed by Highland Associate, 102 Highland Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411. Bids are requested for the following Prime Contracts:
• Contract No. 1 General Construction
• Contract No. 2 Mechanical Construction
• Contract No. 3 Plumbing Construction
• Contract No. 4 Electrical Construction
The work generally consists of replacing exterior ceiling of covered patio, exterior window, alum. entrance door, select VCT flooring, and EPDM liner of built-in gutter; repointing masonry veneer; repairing brick paver patio; adding batt insulation in attic; providing new conc. sidewalks and picnic table pads; repairing exist sanitary line; replacing hot water recirculating pump; reinsulating piping above ceiling; replacing exterior site lighting, poles and conc. bases; and replacing exterior light bollards.
A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Wednesday May 13th, 2026, at 10:00 am. The Pre-Bid Conference will be held via conference call. Any bidder failing to attend the Pre-Bid Conference call will be disqualified from bidding on the project.
Contract Documents for all projects may be examined and/or obtained by appointment at the Lackawanna County Government Center at the Globe, Department of Economic Development 123 Wyoming Ave., 5th Floor, Scranton, PA 18503, 570-963-6830 Ext: 1374 for the non-refundable fee of $50.00 each.
