ANNUAL FUND DRIVE

Dear Neighbors and Friends,

We write to ask you to support your local volunteer fire company this year with a donation to our annual fund drive. Each year our volunteers assist individuals in our community, often within a moment’s notice during an emergency. No one has asked us to volunteer, however, it is our passion to give our all to protect lives and property within our community. Without donations from individuals like you, this would not be possible.

We would like to thank you for your continued support.

Come out and support the blood drive to help save lives…. Thank you..!!

The EGPD will be partnering with our local Heritage's Dairy Store on Kings Hwy. tomorrow morning, for a pop-up style Coffee with a Cop event. Sgt. Owens with the EGPD has put together a nice raffle for Phillies tickets for those that stop by and say hello, and our friends at Heritage's are offering complimentary cups of joe for those at the event. Event will take place Saturday, May 16th from 9-noon. Hope to see you all out there!

On Saturday, May 9, East Greenwich Township will have the honor of welcoming the Police Unity Tour – Chapter 2 as they pass through our community on their journey to Washington, D.C.

The riders are expected to travel southbound on Kings Highway between approximately 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM, on Saturday May 9th, as they make their way toward their scheduled stop in Woolwich Township. The Police Unity Tour is an annual event that honors law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty, while raising awareness and support for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

We encourage residents to safely line Kings Highway and show their support by waving and cheering on these dedicated riders as they begin their long and meaningful journey.

Please join us in especially recognizing our own East Greenwich Police Department officers participating in this year’s 30th Anniversary ride:
Officer Michael McCabe, Officer James Golding, and Officer Breanna Koch. Their commitment to honoring fallen officers represents the very best of our profession and our community.

PASSING OF FIREFIGHTER/ CHAPLIN CHARLES SNYDER

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of one of our own. Firefighter Charles “Chip” Snyder went home to be with the Lord.

Chip was a proud 50-year member of our department — a true staple around the station and our go-to handyman who could fix just about anything.

His dedication, knowledge, and presence were irreplaceable, and his passing leaves a hole in our department that will be very difficult to fill.

Chip, we thank you for your decades of service to our department, our community, and the residents of East Greenwich. Rest easy, brother. We’ll take it from here. 🙏

To Susan, Caleb, and Charlie — our hearts are with you. We are forever grateful for sharing Chip with us, and for your understanding and support every time he answered the call to protect others. Your sacrifice did not go unnoticed.

Chip will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on in every call we answer and every life we protect.
